I know this has been discussed before but why not have a different deadline for HS kids to commit to the kids state series. These kids are literally asked to sign up for kids state the week after high school state. If some were allowed to get out of the wrestling room for a week or so they might just miss it a bit and sign up.

And believe it or not, some actually go out for spring sports. Tryouts start the Monday after state. There is something to be said for kids participating in a variety of sports. They are competing, just not in wrestling.
