I've received several phione calls about what happened to the BVW Wrestling team on Friday so I thought I'd give you all the scoop.
The Team was traveling to Nebraska for 2 days of duals when the second of two vans hit some black ice, fish tailed, went into the median and either rolled or flipped, regardless ended up on it's side headed south just a few feet from the oncoming lanes. First and foremost, all the boys are ok. One was taken to Omaha and diagnosed with bruised ribs and spleen, but released immediately.
Thank goodness the Coaches ensured the boys all were wearing their seat belts.
Luckily several of us parents were only a few minutes behind the boys and were able to bring them home afterward. (Most of the boys wanted to try and contiue up to Neb. and wrestle)
We wrestled Saturday in Topeka and all the boys were in good shape both physically and mentally.
Thank you all who heard and took the time to call and check up on them.
Please remember, whether they like them or not, seat belts save lives and help prevent injuries.
