This announcement does not pertain to any Kansas wrestlers from the class of 2012 or even a Kansas wrestler who is from a prior class that is transferring to wrestle at a new school this year. This is announcement is about a former Kansas high school wrestler who has just finished his career. I am including here on this topic because I want current high school students and Class of 2012 students to read an account of a college wrestler who excelled thru out his entire college career both on the mat and more importantly in the classroom.

Please read about Joey Hambleton and see what great things he accomplished both as a wrestler and a student. This young man had a 3.8 GPA as a Physics major. Wow!!! And he did it and still managed to accomplish a great deal as a college wrestler.

I hope for the same for all of you young wrestlers on this list from the Class of 2012 who are going to wrestle in college next year or are pursuing other sports in college.

Very Well Done, Joey Hambleton. The best of luck on your future endeavors.
