It started in 2007 when we decided that the best way to get ready for the upcoming high school season was to get as much mat time as possible before the killer KSHSAA lock down known as high school season. smile So here we are 10 years later and its Sammy's last year. It has been fun attending these events:

Fall Brawl
Monster Match
Bighorn Nationals
Super 32
Oklahoma Open
Roller's Kickoff
PreSeason Nationals

I might have missed some but regardless the goal was to get a season in before the season started. This year's schedule has been scaled back but we kicked it off with a trip to Schenectady, NY for the Journeymen Fall Classic. The competition was tough and we even endured a power outage! Kayne Hutchison placed third in a round robin pool of 285lbers. He lost his first match and won the rest including a win over the eventual champion. Sammy rolled off two pins and lost in the semis to Trent Hidlay PA, the eventual champ and OW, 3-5. He finished strong with a fall in the 3rd place match. I enjoyed coaching these guys and I highly recommend you attend this tournament if you get the chance. There were several D1 coaches along with a bunch of small college coaches in attendance. They were all approachable and willing to talk about opportunities for next year or even the year after. A big, big THANK YOU to Frank Popolizio and his crew!!

Next stop?? Super 32, Greensboro, NC
