Re: Tulsa Union! - 12/09/11 04:33 PM

I heard flowwrestling.com would cover it, but, as you said, I found nothing scheduled on their site. Maybe someone has more information. Thanks. frown

On the tournament site there is a link for seeds but it doesn't work. Flo is just going to be filming matches then they will post them all after the tournament.

Re: Tulsa Union! - 12/09/11 05:39 PM

Too bad. I've watched live tournaments (select teams/matches)before & enjoyed the "virtual" wrestlers & scoring on Flow. Oh well, I have people at the tournament who will keep me posted. smile

Re: Tulsa Union! - 12/09/11 08:18 PM

Seybold has the fastest pin so far in the tournament :40. He is 2-0 and is wrestling Matt Pratt next from St. James!

Yep and here is my recruiting speach. "Our coach loves his wrestlers and works with them on and off the mat. About life and about matches. We have a great wrestling room where the best kids from all over the stay show up to train throughout the year. Our school doesn't charge $300 an hour to use their gym for a tournament and the weight room rocks! We do the best we can to make sure we have the toughest schedule in the state. We don't waste points on duals and we try to get our wrestlers as many matches as possible. We expect wrestlers and parents to help us raise funds to help all Thunder wrestlers throughout the year. We use these funds to pay for our room maintenance and our travel during the season. That's what Thunder wrestling is about! That is just a small part of your experience at SJA. There is NO busing so you have to get your kid to school. We don't give athletic scholarships so the tuition/fees are around $9000. The curriculum and life at the school revolves around the Catholic faith. We encourage our students to be involved and to follow the rules. Uniforms will be worn every day. 100% of our graduates usually go to college and our academics are tough!! I would be happy to introduce you to our admissions advisor."

Zak Hensley moved in while Rory Haug and Cole Cannon left. 3/4 of the lineup never set foot on the mat before they came to SJA. The success of the program is about Coach Medina and all of the parents who make tremendous sacrifices to help their kids succeed.

Oh, and I forgot to mention. You don't get a tax break for your tuition so you will really be paying for your kid to go to private and public school.

Re: Tulsa Union! - 12/11/11 12:39 AM

Good job saint james, and will is right about private schools,
other schools like saint james see kids come in there freshman year never wrestled ever,it takes goid coaches like medina, parks, and other coaches to teach those kids, and be with them in the spring, summer, camps, hitting weights.
You go to private school for teaching your child about becoming a good person in school and out of school, will is right there is no no no no no no
Scholarships .

how about just giving coach medina and the parents who listened to mr.will about going to kids wrestling, freestyle and grecco roman wrestling, wrestling camps, oh and hard work from the kids. And the boring gym time lifting running etc.
And the parents taking the time and money for the wrestling to get there child better.

Keep up the good work all wrestlers in kansas, little kids, high school teens, college .

It's called "timely transfers", success attract success. Hensley would have been a 3 or 4 timer at any school, even at Frontenac where they only have 1 mat, and a smallish weight room! Love Zak, very proud of his success, and wish him all the successes that could come from this. BUT ease up a bit Will.

Stop by and see the mathmatics and english departments. I'm sure they would like to get a few things straight, before your next endorsement. I mean as the "face" of the St. James "recruiting" department, you've gotta do better than this. lmao. Good luck to Reece, Zak, and the rest of the Thunder.

Tough crowd. I was in a hurry but to clarify, the past two years EVERY SJA graduate went on to attend college (100%). I didn't have time to go back and research the previous year. (Last year was the third graduating class). I am pretty sure that you won't find a public 4A school that can match that.
Posted By: pete77

Re: Tulsa Union! - 12/12/11 02:43 PM

The one thing about private schools like will cokeley said.

Two years ago we were looking for schools for both wrestling and for his future and three of the colleges counselors said that our money was not a waste it was a good investment for your sons future and it the school that you sent your son to is a good school.
That is our experence with private schools everybody has there own view
Its early in the season but alot of great matches so far
Keep wrestling hard all kansas wrestlers , all levels

I don't think anyone would take that bet.

The real test will come in a few years. To go to college is one thing, to graduate is another thing all together. Hope it works out for all involved.
