It's actually a good question.
The rankings are based on a state tournament scenario. Not a Grand State, but an entire team participating. In the BC tourney, WNW placed 2nd to Newton and ahead of Andale and Wichita Heights. Each tournament has a different dynamic depending on which teams are entered. The fewer teams entered, the closer to a dual match it becomes. In that tournament, WNW placed at 126, 138 and 152. None of those wrestlers are currently ranked in 6A. So.... In a state bracket, those placing points are not counted. On the other hand, Andale placed 7 wrestlers. All of those wrestlers would be favorites to place in a state bracket, thereby retaining almost all of their points.
WNW has a very solid team. I anticipate that they will compete for a top 5 finish in 6A. I believe they are a better dual team (right now) than both Andale and Heights. But if you throw those teams in much deeper water with all the ranked teams in a bracket, the top heavy teams come out on top.
