Ok many of us never get to enjoy the towns we go to...in and out for wrestling and that's it. Post a must see place in your community or inquire about someplace here and let's see Kansas.

My inquiring mind is about Pittsburg, Ks:

Is Chicken-N-Pickin shut down? I couldn't get their website to pop up but that place sounds awesome!

I want to know of a better steak place than BigEds in Bird City. 22 ounce fillet for $21 bucks! That's the medium, and it was awesome. This year I'm going for the Big Ed special. They say it looks like a huge ball of beef.

Aaron,
Pittsburg has become an all-weekender for us, as my husband has three must-eat places. Friday night is Osteria Gran Sasso, an authentic Italian restaurant downtown just off the main drag that you wouldn't expect to find in Pittsburg, KS. VERY IMPORTANT: If you're taking a group, call a couple days ahead or they WON'T be ready for you.

Saturday night is Gauchos, in the same building but just above Gran Sasso. This is a wrestler's off-season dream. It's a Brazilian barbecue, served family style and all you can eat. Side dishes are all carb-heavy, save room for the meat. As it comes off the grill they bring it around and you just take hunks of it. Sausage, chicken, ham, beef, turkey, everything!

Then Sunday, of course, is Chicken Annie's. No explanation needed, I don't think. I think we're actually going to make a weekend out of the Shrine Bowl so he can make all his stops. All in all, a fabulous weekend for those looking to gain a few pounds! Oh, and there is also a fun sports bar down by the hospital on the south end of town.

Coach Jilka, When you talk about Bird City are you talking about the bird city by St. Francis, the tiny little town, or is there another bird city that im just not aware of? just wondering cause ive never heard of a good resturant in bird city and my dad has been up there quite a bit and never mentioned it and he usually talks about the good resturants he goes too in full detail, lol. Just wondering where your talking about. Thanks.

Is Percy's in Morland still open? They used to make a MEAN cheeseburger. It took up the whole plate, and your fries were another plate full. Plus they let you park in the middle of the street in Morland which is kind of fun.

Big Ed's in Bird is good. Park Hill in St Francis good mexican orsteaks. Route 36 in Idalia CO. The steak house downtown in Wakeeney is good. Crazy R's in Goodland was good last time I was there. The Pizza place in Baldwin by the college is good. Man I'm hungry.

Big Ed's is the best steak I have ever had. Our entire wrestling team makes a trip there each spring for some good eatin'. We go in a couple of weeks. Great food and a great time.

Fudruckers was a regular stop for a lot of wrestlers in Omaha. A great burger joint that I know some have checked into trying to get into Wichita.

Edge of Town and Double D's Diner both in El Dorado used to be pretty good.

Marchellos in Wichita is good Italian and good Burger in Wichita to me is Bionic Burger.

I like Pheasant Run Pancake Inn (I think that's the name) in Hays.

Bear House Cafe in Bunker Hill is great, and Made from Scratch (pretty sure that's the name) in Wilson, Ks is wonderful.

Swayz don't like the burgers at Bionic, he likes the jumbo real milk shakes. Marchellos and Bionic are within a mile of the house. Both good places. A few other great places in or around Wichita.

Quincy's Bar & Grill, 2047 N. West Street possibly one of the best places in town and each table has a television. Reasonable prices, tell them Mike the bald guy sent you.

The Green Mill, 549 S. Rock, Some folks have had bad luck there but I never have. I think they have changed managment and last few times there it was VERY GOOD.

Bangkok Thai, 2020 S. Rock My new favorite resturant in Wichita. The Spicy Duck is out of this world. My wife loves the fried rice, complete with shrimp, pork, and chicken, and they aren't skimpy on the servings.

Doc's Steakhouse, 1515 N Broadway, great atmosphere, reasonable prices, and the home of the garlic salad.

Clearwater Golf Course, 14100 W. 95th S The place, resturant, is always packed for a reason.

Busters Burger Joint, 1202 E. Macarthur, Swayz as good as the burgers are at Bionic, this place puts them to shame. The only burger in Wichita that is better is Quinceys. This place is basically a carry out joint.

Mike's Steakhouse, S. Broadway, The best breakfast I have had since leaving Tulsa and their Corner Cafe. This place during the week has great specials and again, always packed for a reason.

Don't forget AJ's at Northrock Lanes in Wichita for the biggest pizza ever! Don't try to take one home in a subcompact car.

The more i hear about big Eds the madder i get because every time were in st. francis my dad always makes us wait to go back to goodland and eat at the bowling alley, lol.

We never go to travel anywere far enough away to eat anything cool unless you count the pizza hut in oberlin, or the wendys in salina cool. But we took a bunch of trips during the summer like when the world cup was in Stillwater two years in a row we got to eat at eskimo joes and mexico joes which if you go to still water everyone eats at those but still pretty cool places. (by the way my sentence above might be the longest sentence ever without being a run on.) Also when we were going threw wichita i love to eat at Ryans stake house, thought it was like a golden coral times 5. Well its about lunch so i think im going to go eat something.
