At 130 lbs. Joe Hagan from Kapaun defeated Kirk Godfrey from Ark City in the Emporia Regional Finals 5-0!

At 135 lbs. Tyson Young from Winfield defeated John Howell from Kapaun in the Emporia Regional Finals 9-2!

Rodriguez from Emporia beat Holly of Shawnee Heights at the Centennial League Tournament a week ago 6-5.

Why is Travis Kehler of Seaman not ranked. Regional Champ at 152 with a stunning (but not unexpected) defeat of Grape from Lansing (ranked 5th)?

To quote LL Cool J, "Don't call it a comeback, I been here for Years!".

It was a good win for Kehler, but grape was beating him by 8 when it happened

This is the week to throw the rankings out the door. The kids did what they could all year & last week to better their position at state. Good luck to all the potential champions.

Greg Curtis is the Gardner Edgerton 145. Kyle Hess is 125.

I know rankings don't mean anything. The final ranking will come out after this weekend. Kehler has been beating people all season that he, on paper, probably shouldn't have. But, if you are going to release rankings after Regionals, you should reflect how those regionals finished, and Kehler beat the #5 guy. Just like John Cook is still ranked at 171, but is wrestling 215. Just pointing out an inaccuracy in the rankings. Grape is a very accomplished wrestler, but was beaten by the better man that day.
