We will be holding a Wrestling Camp in Andover Central's Auxillary gym on June 18 through the 21st. Attached is a copy of the application for any who are interested. We will feature David James, Head Coach at the University of Central Okla.

2007 ANDOVER CENTRAL JAGS
WRESTLING CAMP

Dates: Monday, June 18 through Thursday, June 21
Location: Andover Central High School Gym

Camp Schedule:
Monday, June 18 Check in: 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm grades (1 through 6)
through Instruction: 2:00 to 4:00 daily
Thursday, June 21 Check in: 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm (grades 7 through 12)
Instruction: 5:30 to 8:00 pm daily

Camp Director: Terry Alley – Head Coach – Andover Central High School
Coach Alley has been coaching wrestling in Kansas High Schools for the past 32 years. During his career, he has produced over 50 state placers with 20 of them winning state titles. His wrestlers have gone on to win 4 National titles and 10 All – American honors at the collegiate level while wrestling at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Head Clinican – David James, Head Coach – University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond, Okla.
Coach James just completed his 25th year as Head Coach of the UCO Bronco’s and has lead them to 12 of their 15 Team National Championships over the years. UCO dominated the NCAA II tournament this year by sewing up the Championship after the Semi-final round. His wrestlers have won over 150 All-American honors and 44 Individual National Championships. Coach James has worked camps for Coach Alley since the early 1980’s and has recruited several wrestlers, who have attended his camps.

Clinician – Chris Saferite, NCAA II Runner-up, University of Central Oklahoma
Chris also was a 4 time State Placer at Augusta High School winning the title twice. In his freshman season at UCO, Chris was expected to be a Red Shirt backup and gain experience for the years ahead. As the year progressed, Chris broke into the lineup and not only qualified for the NCAA but helped UCO win their 13th National Title, by placing 2nd at 125 pounds.

Guest Clinicians:
We will have other former wrestlers from Coach James & Alley’s teams helping with the clinic in both supervision and instruction.

Athletes wishing to participate in the Wrestling Camp can enroll by completing the application below and mailing it to:

Enclose with your application a Fee of $65_for the 4 sessions of wrestling instruction. For those who pre-register by June 12th, will be provide a Camp T-shirt. Those registering after that time or at the door the day of the camp will not receive a shirt.

I was told today that unless plans change, Coach James will be bringing his assistant, Cole Province with him. Cole was a 4 time National Champion for the Bronco's before signing on as a full time assistant for UCO. We will know for sure on his attendance as we get closer to camp time.

Anyone from the Derby or even Wichita area interested in carpooling for this let me know. With gas prices what they are, a way to save a little money. Now that the wonderful Edisons, actually Momma Jenni helped make me aware that the HS session is an evening session there will hopefully be more HS students who participate.
