Just asking a question here. What is the procedure for the any of the Districts to inform the other districts about not having 4 qualifers for the state tournament.
Example: In the 14u 150 bracket, if I read the qualifer list correctly, district 2 and district 4 only have 3 qualifers each.
We wrestle in district 1 which voted not to wrestle any 5th and 6th place matches unless they were needed. Weren't they needed if there were 2 empty spots in the bracket? That bracket in district 1 had 6 former state qualifers of which you knew only 4 of them were going to make it to state, at least 2 were going to be left out.
Just wondering what the correct procedure is so this could be corrected the next time.
Can anyone answer this for me?

Sorry this won't answer your question, but what happened to Voss from Colby? I had put the bracket together earlier this week and thought your statement was incorrect, so I double checked and found that a wrestler had disappeared from District 4's list.
To further complicate your question, though, who's to decide which district would get to fill another district's empty spot? It wouldn't be right to give one district preference over another if more than one had 5th placers.
I agree, this was a sad thing for the bracket, there were good wrestlers in 14/150 at Ottawa that won't be wrestling in Topeka this weekend, but I know that is also true in many of the District 1 brackets in which I know some of the wrestlers. I'm sure it happened across the state. I imagine you're speaking of Jordan Gofourth and Kevin Moravec, and I was sorry to see them not qualify, as they are both very good wrestlers and very good young men. This happened to my son in his first year of 12&U, and I know I breathed a big sigh of relief that we got through it this year. Good luck to your wrestlers this weekend!

Pursuant to the Kansas Kids Constitution , Section III, Part B #5: There will be four (4) qualifiers from each District to State. Even if there are open spots, the rules do not allow more than four wrestlers from any one district in the bracket. If a club becomes aware that one of their state qualifers will not be able to compete this weekend, regardless of the reason, they are requested to notify Leanna Grater ASAP so that Leanna can attempt to move another wrestler from the same district into the open spot. At no times will Leanna move a wrestler from one district into an open spot from another district. This would violate the Kids rules.
