My son has decided to set out HS Football this year and concentrate on getting ready for Wrestling. We would like to hit some tournaments prior to the HS Season. At this time we are planning our agenda. So far we have the Fall Brawl (Mo.)Oct. 20, and the Big Horn Nationals (Co.)Nov. 11 that we are attending. Are there any more that any one may know of?

The Wizzers allways takes a group down to Oklahoma to do two back to back tournaments. The stories from those two days are legendary and likely a number of others can talk about the fun and seriousness of how the Wizzers take this, with a team approach. Depending on the age of the wrestler you can get a ton of matches in less than 24 hours against some pretty good comp in the two Oklahoma Tournaments. We are actually going to start practice for the HS and Jr. High kids during the last week of September. We are also planning on taking a group this year to Dallas to wrestle in the Bishop Lynch tournament that has mat side weigh in. I have already spoken to Coach Tim at BL and there may also be others.

Super 32 (super32.com)is in Greensboro,NC but it is the same weekend as the Fall Brawl. Last year many of the brackets in NC had over 100 participants. The Monster Match in Denver,Co is another good one. http://rockymountainnationals.com/mm.html It is November 3rd. In west Indianapolis the Cobra wrestling club hosts a Monster Medal Tournament that had some super tough HS kids last year. It is Sunday October 14 redcobrawrestling.com.

There is a pre-season tournament during the first weekend in November around Charlotte, North Carolina that is part of a new folkstyle tour series being introduced by the USA Wrestling organization. I think the second tournament is during the holiday break at the end of December. You can find out more about this tournament series and the USAW reasons for starting it on:
