Nick Lucas I think he is from great bend. Clay Lautt from KCWC this kid is crazy strong & can also wrestle. Brandon mleuks from pittsburg is very good also. I Think it will be one of these.

I don't have a handle on the entire state, but in the tournaments that the GPWC have wrestled in Nick Lucas stands out as the young man to beat. He is a lot of fun to watch (my son might argue that since Lucas has beaten him twice). There is a small group of local boys (Kuhn, Hughes,Boone, and McPhillips) that go at it weekly and trade wins to grab medals but Lucas grabs most of the brackets. He has definately set the goal for my son to work towards.

Who is this that beat Lucas twice? What tournament? Dakota Motter was wrestling 70lbs at salina & beat (pinned) my son in the final match for first. It was the first time I have seen him (Dakota) wrestle. This boy is a very good wrestler & in my opinion could wrestle with any of the above. Who knows who will be at what weight at state. Should be interesting. Good luck.

lol...no lucas beat my son twice...sorry if it sounded the other way around.
Ive see Motter also, he is very, very good. I think he got second at Maize, my son likes to watch him wrestle. There are kids at 64, and 70 that fluctuate and there is a lot of time between now and qualifiers so who knows.
Motter vs Lucas would be an amazing match to watch. Good luck to your son Mr. Luellen I will be watching his progress this year.

mlekus and lautt both placed at tulsa natl's. lautt and mlekus are 1-1 for the season. both wrestled 10 and under at mill valley and met in the finals. lucas caught mlekus quickly at salina and got the victory in a high scoring match. mlekus has wrestled in many big tournaments, and was state champ last year, he gets my nod just for "big match" experience. he seems to always rise to the occasion. all three are outstanding wrestlers though, who knows "on any given saturday".

My son went up to 67lbs. for subs. He has wrestled 64lbs. all year. I think he has a chance at subs. His name is Brendon Condella. Looking at his bracket for subs, there are a lot of 6 and unders that are in there.

Looks like Wichita had a great match between Lucas and Mlekus. I really like both kids! My son is Clay Lautt and we stayed home. He wanted to go - but I really needed the weekend off!! I called to take his name off bracket but guess they didn't - sorry about that. Whatever happens @ this weight, it will be very fun to watch the next 3 weekends (whether it's one of these 3 or someone else)!

My money is on Clay Lautt. I know there are plenty of 10/unders that are glad the qualifying tournaments are here & they don't have to worry about that pesky 8/under cleaning there clocks anymore til next year

Lautt-Mlekus-Lucas thats a tough one. My son is friends with Lautt & Mlekus & I have met Lucas & his father. They are all great kids & have enjoyed knowing them. My boy lost to Mlekus 7-0 at 6&u state two years ago. He Has lost to Lautt several times. He has been pinned by Lucas the first match of this season. Thanks for getting us off on the right foot this season-lol. I will be glad to see them all go to 10&u next year. My boy is a year younger than them. I want to wish them all good luck. I wont make any predictions. This will be a good bracket to watch at state.
