Coach Brown will be making his third trip to Nationals this year. I am excited to be a veteran this year as opposed to a newbie...bring ya shoes!

All Coaches, Athletes, and Parents,
I will be giving a skim boarding instructions at Virginia on Saturday from 1-4pm right off the pier. Look for the man who is jumping up and down with a swollen knee, no there will be no skim boarding for Jason----i cannot pay for another knee surgery!

I first heard this quote from our Head Coach and the more I thought about it, the more I liked it. The essence of the qoute is about confidence and having an aggressive style, even when wrestling from a defensive position. If your opponent takes a shot, we teach our wrestlers to sprawl, post and spin, thus turning their shot into your advantage and scoring. Many wrestlers only wish to stop the shot and return to a neutral position. If we take a shot, our wrestler must finish deep and score in the quickest manner possible. Explosion in a very important aspect in developing a shot that can not be stopped and you must have faith in the shot taken. Dan Gables qoute summarize's up the mentality needed for the highest levels of success and does it with a tranquil simplicity.

I am going again this year.
Coach Bammes, I sent you a Private Message with my contact information if there is anything I can assist you with.
Coach Brown, I promised your wife you would come back home uninjured. How about this year you just build some sand castles on the beach?

DeYoe,
I will be there with my bucket an scoop creating Castles in the Sand-like the Neil Young song. And I will always know where to go when and if I do get hurt for the plane ride home.
Hell, I'm hurt right now, sometime I'm gonna have to learn to slow down. But I figure God gave me this body to torture and have as much fun as possible while I'm here. I happen to be a glutton for punishment, just got over a pinched nerve in my neck, from Meyer, and a dislocated thumb-also from Meyer.
I am really excited to be going this year with another great class of athletes, coaches, and parents. If anyone needs a coach, I, and everyone else there, will be more than willing to help any young wrestler. It is also great to be able to sit in the corner with someone who you normally would coach against! I really enjoyed sitting with Billy Johnson at Ohio, Kelly Gabel last year in Virginia, and even you DeYoe! And it is always fun to see Mr. Randy acting a fool!
Although we are outlawed in the Bar an Grill in the motel, no more fun times with the New Jersey crew! Also all wrestlers bring t-shirts from your schools and you can trade for some really nice ones from other states. I traded for a few really awesome ones last year from the Middlesex New Jersey, BlueJays.

Coaches,
We need some help. Right now we have 26 wrestlers signed up for Senior Nationals. That is a good 10 less than we normally take. At this point Kansas has 20 unused seats on the plane.
Coaches if you have qualified athletes that have not committed to this meet, say something to them. This meet is an opportunity of a life time. The atmosphere, the competition, and the team feel are second to none. Get after that state finalist to get their paperwork in. Time is running out. 20 seats left unfilled will place this meet in jeopardy for the future. Call Chuck or Cherie Elvin 913-888-8630.

I just talked Mitch Arnold into taking the trip!!! He started training last night... I think all state champions and especially multiple champs owe it too their state to go represent Kansas at the National Level. We have supported them, and will support them in Virginia Beach as well, and now is the time for them to go make our state look even better by a strong representation at the National Level!!!
Plus it's a life experience they will never forget!!!
