Who do you think will win this regional as a team?

I would say that Louisburg, St. James, Baldwin and Basehor are all in the running. I don't know much about the other teams, so I can't judge them, just think those 4 will be in the upper half.

Prairie View looks like they could have the best shot at winning the team championship. Osawatomie will also score a lot of team points. These are the two top teams in my opinion.

look at the state ranked wrestlers at spring hill this year and tell me the regionals are fair to the other regionals at 4a and make the wrestlers belive it. wrestling has been a lot better in the center of kansas and in the west for years. take a look at the other 3 regionals at 4a and then make your own mine up. there are a great number of very good wrestlers that will not make it to state that would have in the spring hill regionals and after looking at 5 and 6a its the same in those regionals. Its time to make the regionls fair for all the wrestlers to at lease get a fair chance to say they were in the state meet at lease once in there hi school years. some of the kids have wrestled since age 6 or 7 and will never make it to the state meet but at lease the people of kansas that make up the regionals each year need to make sure that they have a chance.

Very hard to predict who is going to be good every year in high school wrestling(individually, the team part always the usual suspects). These things need to be planned way in advance and cannot wait til the end of the season to see who the better wrestlers are so we can even out the regional draws. Travel, Hotels, etc. it is more about that than giving everyone a shot at state. There are always some good wrestlers that get left out no matter what, there are too many really good wrestlers in 4a. Cant make everyone happy. Is it fair that seaton and weller at 125 have to wrestle each other in league and regionals two weeks in a row when ranked 1 and 2 in state and like 4 or 5 times this year? Luck of the draw my friend.

how many in the spring hill regionals wrestle each other during the years. take a good look at clay center and tell me there teams are up one year and down the next. abiline concoridia chapman all have great teams year in and year out but when the regionals come back east how many of those teams come east. why send tonganoxie clear to abiline when you have a regional at spring hill.

You must have not read my previous post close enough in regards to the usual suspects, Clay Center is what i am talking about there. i am just saying there are too many variables going on and it is impossible to make it fair for everyone. i just used the seaton/weller argument because i saw it in person. i am sure the same thing has happened out west this year.

Pfft! Look at the Ulysses regional. there are six of the top 10 teams in 4A at that regional. Don't even consider team standings, you have guaranteed two of the top six kids in a given weight class will be sitting at home during state because of the way the regionals are drawn up. Meanwhile other regionals will send "their top 4" to Salina.

That being said, I am not sure how you do it differently...it is just tough the way it is.

I'd say this and Caney ties for the weekest regionals.

Hey I wrestle for Spring Hill and am excited for hosting the regional this year. I would like to see if anybody had some predictions on this year and who you suspect will be battling in the finals. Thank you.

TOM- HOW WOULD YOU SUGGEST DOING IT DIFFERENT? maybe you could invite the top 16 ranked wrestlers to state. no then that wouldn't be fair either, someone would disagree with the rankers. then i don't want to get into what would happen if the seeding meetings didn't come out perfect. some teams have jv wrestlers that would place in the top four, that's what happens in good programs. back in the day, (pittsburg high) we had to beat parsons or coffeyville on our way to state championships in football, never saw a close game after that. they didn't complain about the league we all played in, they just hated us a little more. my point is, teach your wreslters to fight the battle they can win. every year there are different regional that are tougher, also weight classes that are tougher. the andover regional is tougher in the lower weights, and the liberal regional is tougher in the higher weights, what should you do in that case, split teammates? i understand your compaint i really do, but that's life, LIFE IS NOT ALWAYS FAIR.

Finally, a voice contesting the most mis-used and over-used word in the English language! (IMO ... my own disclaimer!)
