Dear TOKH, couldn't help but notice, there are no replies to your post. Wonder why that is ???

Yes, it really was great the way TOHK represented Kansas in Iowa. The best example we should all be proud of is the fist fight that one of them got in on the middle of the mat resulting in security being called, and one of them trying his normal abuse of the officials and getting his final warning by 9:00 the first morning.

Hopefully we are not judged as a state by the behavior of TOHK. Barry Disney was polite as usual, but the rest of TOHK was a screaming mess. They maybe are great wrestlers but they are horrible examples of sportsmanship, as a whole.

well I happen to like there competitiveness and how they support there wrestlers, just this morning on the radio a woman called up representing TOHK and congradulated everyone on how they did and getting people to relize that we have very high quality kids and team right in Wichita. I thought that was one of the coolest things someone could do, expecially for the little ones. Now I'm not saying they are perfect but they support there team a lot more than some teams that I've seen. If you lived in wichita you could see the various car washes and fundraisers they put on to send these kids to the big national tournaments. That shows a little love of the sport to me and when you do love this sport and you lose after all that hard work, you hate it, and some people handle loses differently (some not always in the right way). I guess I'm just trying to say that I'm tired of hearing people bash on TOHK all the time because I think they are one of the most dedicated teams in kansas.

Hey Butt-Head what did people do before they invented TV?
Don't be stupid Beavis there's always been TV, there's just more channels now.
Oh yeah, heh heh hehe... progress is cool. Heh hehe heh

I agree i am tired of hearing the bashing to. I seen alot of kids throwing their head gear and throwing some serious fits after loosing. I also saw some coaches acting very ugly. This was going on in alot of clubs through subs, district , and state. It is funny that people see them do this and make excuses for them and their actions. All of a sudden it was the officals fault or some other excuse. People tend to down people who don't look like them, and they love to judge those that don't look like them as well. To those people who love to bash others without looking at their own problems and issues with their club and themselfs need to stop and do a self check and open your eyes , because there is alot of bad sports in this sport and it is not just coming from TOHK. Stop and pray for yourself and others.

World of Wrestling Reno Entries

If you do a little research on the World of Wrestling Reno entries, you will see that Chris Reed was Division 2, 8 and under 105 at Reno last weekend. Obviously, the post listing the TOHK wins at Reno listing him as 10U 105 was erroneous in regards to his age.

I've been a drum beater over the last few years against some of the actions I've personally seen from the TOHK group. They have ALWAYS wrestled hard. I have always given them credit for that, but in the past I have complained about their actions other than wrestling. I wasn't in IOWA this last weekend to know if anything might have happened with any of the clubs. But I thought to myself that this year the TOHK group had started to calm down and I had felt they had done a "GOOD JOB" on and off the mat this year. They have earned my respect for that. SO I personally hope they keep the good job going and congratulations on a good year.

I like the way the moms of the wrestlers go out on the mats after a loss at the state tourny, shows love and compassion.

In TOHK defense concerning the fight at Nationals, that was not the TOHK's boy's fault. I was sitting in the stands right in front of it and the other kid came up from behind and started it. He was just defending himself. No I am not from the team, just clearing up the fight rumor before it got out of hand.

I wasn't at Iowa this weekend but will say that in Reno TOHK represented Kansas exceptionally well. They cheered not just for TOHK kids but all Kansas kids. It was a pleasure spending time with them. Great job and thanks for your support this weekend for my own son.

I know exactly what PowerVike is talking about regarding the mon that went out onto the mat after her 10yr. old kid lost. This does not teach these young kids to grow up and be "men". What ever happen to the saying "take it like a man".
I have more respect for the kids that know how to win and lose with grace.

Wasn't Josh Baldrige from the school of Hard Knox?

No Josh Baldrige wrestled for Haysville. I think your thinking of Tim Elliot. Tim wrestled for Haysville at the start of wrestling season.

Oops, I was actualy talking about Joseph Cornejo, not Baldrige. Did Cornejo wrestle for Knox at one point?

BigPin22:

Wrong again! Joseph also wrestled for Haysville Kids Club. Joseph did wrestle at West High School for two years prior to his parents moving to Haysville and Joseph transferring schools.

Josh and Joseph were teammates all through Kids Wrestling.

David Anderson and his younger sister at one time wrestled for both Haysville Kids, and later Wichita West Wrestling Club, the predecessor to TOHK.

I will also add that I would allow any of the Taylor's, Charles Knox, Danny Deshazer, Jason McComb, and Mike Elliott to coach any of my children at any time.
