I wanted to let everybody know that one of the best Officials in Southwest Kansas was involved in an accident while driving his sprint car this past Saturday night in Dodge City, KS. Vahn Kuhn was taken to Wichita after the accident. As of this time I am not sure how severe the injury, but I do know he was in surgery yesterday and the dr. had not been back in today. Please say a Prayer for Van and his family.

Talked to Van last night and he is doing better but still not sure about his arm. He broke both bones in one arm and the bones came through the skin. He is at Via Christi in Wichita, not sure what room. Amy (his girlfriend) is gonna stay in touch with me and as soon as I here anything else, I will post it.

Good officials are hard to come by and Van is one of the best. We wish him a full and speedy recovery!

Update on Van, he has 2 plates in his arm, they will not have to operate on his hand. They say it will heal on its own. He is hoping to get skin graph done this week. Hope he gets better... One of the good guys in the game

I went and spent a couple of hours with Van and his mother at the hospital on Wednesday. They opened and redressed his injury to his left arm while i was there for the first time since surgery. At that point they didn't know if he was going to be sent home in a couple of days and come back for skin grafts or if they could go ahead and do them. He has feeling and movement in his fingers. There are 2 of his fingers that were broken. He has full range of motion in his elbow. He is getting along pretty good concerning all that happened.

The second sentence out of his mouth was about wrestling. "It was a good one wasn't it." Followed by a smile. Landon and I had the pleasure of having Van as the ref for the finals at state. I asked him if he could raise both hands and he smiled and just said, "I will be back next year".

Please contact Van to let him know we are all thinking of him. It would mean a great deal to him.

Just want to update everyone on how Van is doing. Van is out of hospital, he is staying with his parents for now. He had a check-up on 6/18 and the doctor said everything is looking good. Continue to pray for Van, you can send cards or letters to his home address:
