not speaking of 321a but to get to state in 4a is way tougher than to get to state in 5a and 6a. i do think when you get to state in 4a you have a good chance to place. 5a and 6a just because some make it to state doesnt mean they have a chance to place. i will put me in for an example. i went to state in 5a by only winning one match to get there. in my eyes i didnt belong there. the very next year we dropped to 4a. i had a way better record and didnt even make it to state. just look at my regional and you wont have to ask why, mccreary from wellington, lovell from caney, hale from columbus placed in that order in regional and state just so you know lol. so i will always believe that 4a is the toughest to get to state. i also think that 5a and 6a state placers are as good as any of the lower classes. this changes from year to year but thats my opinion.

interesting that 71 are from big schools and 70 are from small schools. being that if you combine 5a and 64 there are only half as many schools. yet #1s are 8-6 for the small schools. i have always said that i think 4a is toughest in all sports, the size of the schools, the number of schools, the proximity to larger towns, all factor to the end result. top to bottom i think 4a is toughest. even more interesting is the fact that chiefs senario looks dead on, valley center's drop to 4a really changes things.

4A is definately toughest to get to state. The wrestlers in 4a are just overall more tough than in any other class.

4A is definately toughest to get to state. The wrestlers in 4a are just overall more tough than in any other class. you think the wrestlers are tougher? how do they get tougher? i think that's a pretty bold statement. possibly a little far fetched, to think that somehow the wrestlers in one classification somehow get tougher than every other class.

There are just about twice as many teams in 4A as in either big division. I know there are as many or more students, but there about twice as many varsity 189 pounders in 4A as 5 or 6. There are bound to be some really good ones.

My brother-in-law is a 4A coach after spending many years in 321-A. He stated that outside a few wrestlers each year that 4A, in his opinion is overall much much better and is right up there with all other classes.
