WICHITA - The Newman wrestling team dropped it's second-consecutive home dual Tuesday, suffering a 43-0 shutout to in-state rival Fort Hays State inside Fugate Gymnasium.

Fort Hays State was spotted three points to open the dual when Tommy Edgmon picked up a forfeit win in the 125 lb. weight class. Travis Kuhn gave the Tigers six more points in the next match, pinning Newman's JP Carter, and putting FHSU up 9-0. The Jets had chances to win in the 141 and 149 matches. Andre Harrison made some late moves to snatch a 3-2 win from Brent Fisher in the 141 match, and Levi Younkin earned a 3-1 win over Mitch Arnold in the 149 contest to continue the rout.

It didn't get much better from there for Newman. Austin Workman's 5-2 loss to FHSU's Blake Mallory at 165 was the closest match of the night from that point on, as the Tigers cruised to the sweep.

The Jets are back in action Jan. 24 when they travel to Warrensburg, Mo., for the Central Missouri Dual Jamboree.
