I would say this regional is wide open. Very few State ranked wrestlers and very few common opponents. As far as start times it should be like the rest of the Regonal sites 3rounds out the front and 1 backside on Friday. Finals @ 6 on Sat. Wrestling starts at 2 on Friday.
Ranked kids: 103 #1, 130 #4, 140 # 6, 152 #1, 171 #1, 189 #1-4-5, 215 #2-3-4, 285 #5

Here are some observations after looking at the brackets:

I'm not trying to be an HA, but this is the weakest 321A southwestern/central regional I can recall. If my count was right only 12 kids are currently ranked and I think fewer than this will place. In past years teams like Beloit and Smith Center have attended which at least brought in 10 state medals, but this year's crop of potential medalist appears to be a bit thinner than usual. The Norton regional will have the vast majority and even more than in typical years in my opinion.

Omli from Ell Saline looks like he performing just fine without his teammates from Minneapolis to support him while they are on the eastern half of the state in Rossville.

Is Matt Emerson of Moundridge who wrestles 112 their first state qualifier? If so congratulations, young man. Once again I'm not trying to be an HA but he made it to state with a 13-18 record so far. Maybe he can up it to 14-18 with a win in the finals. Does Moundridge co-op with someone, I just can't remember reading any results on them?

Too many brackets that are not even close to being full.
