Just wanted to say congrats 2 the Koelzer brothers for placing 3rd n 4th. Stephan Baldwin went 2-2 and didn't place. I know there was other kansas kids that went and placed and others that didn't place. A big HOOORAH for all of you. Becuz you know what u need 2 do 2 get better. Becuz you wouldn't have had any matches at the brute nationals.

i'm not knockin brute nationals.(haven't been there) but my son got in 4 quality matches in iowa. And we know where we need to improve we wouldn't have got that at brute. Gas, registration, coaches's pass to iowa $200. Registration n coaches pass to brute $155 plus gas.

Don't know about folkstyle nationals, but we had a blast at Brute. And if you volunteer like I did, you don't have to pay to get in and you can still coach your son or daughter. In fact next year we are going again and both my wife and I will go this time and volunteer. By volunteering you save a lot of money in registration and they give you a shirt and free food for the entire tournament. So all we paid was for my son's registration, gas for the trip and hotel.

Unfortunately he lost his first match to a kid from Idaho, but he won his next 3. That put him in the 3rd/4th place match to wrestle the same kid from Idaho. Fortunately this time my son won. So we wrestled 5 matches this weekend and had a great time. Got to meet alot of new people and see alot of old friends.

We will definately go back next year and congratulations to all the kansas kids that did well at both Brute and Folkstyle.

After going to Brute the past two years and Iowa this year. USA Nationals is by far a greater experience. Not to knock Brute, but 25 mats in the UNI Dome is an awesome experience. There was barely any brackets that weren't at least 32 man brackets. I highly recommend it for anyone if you never have gone.
