Will be interesting to follow. MO does have 5# wt. increments. Note 3 tier state series (district, regional, state).

Your thoughts?

Proposed Amendment Language:
The following paragraph as quoted from the “Tournament Committee 2009-2010 Guide To Qualifying Tournaments” is to be modified as shown (modification/addition is in red) and the new paragraph as shown is to be added to this section:
Current wording to be changed and added to:
“Wrestlers will be allowed to weigh-in one time only on Friday night. If a wrestler is over-weight on Friday, then they will be allowed to weigh-in one time only on Saturday morning. Scales will be opened one half (1/2) hour prior to the weigh-in times on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to allow wrestlers to check their weight; after the weigh-ins begin, there will be no checking of weight. Wrestlers must be allowed to use any of the certified scales being used for the competition weigh-ins. Wrestlers who are over weight after their one time weigh-in on Saturday morning will not be allowed to wrestle. There will be no running, or other weight loss measures allowed inside the wrestling facility.”

New wording to replace above wording:
“Wrestlers competing in the USA State Championship will be allowed to weigh-in one time only on Friday night. There will be no running, or other weight loss measures allowed inside the wrestling facility.

Wrestlers competing in the USA District Championship Tournament and Regional Championship Tournament will be required to weigh-in on Saturday morning prior to the start of the tournament. Wrestlers must make scratch weight. Wrestlers will be allowed to weigh-in one time only. Scales will be opened one half (1/2) hour prior to the scheduled weigh-in time to allow wrestlers to check their weight; after the weigh-ins begin, there will be no checking of weight.

Not controversial, just different then Kansas. Check weight, go run, check weight, go run repeat til weight is achieved or weigh ins are closed. Sounds like Mo. is tired of that routine.

I don't blame them. One time is the charm! If you're allowing them to check weight beforehand there should be no problems. Even if they didn't allow weight checks, most clubs would bring their own digital scales and check their wrestlers before weigh-in just like in high school.

I agree, after working countless weigh ins, it would make the process much smoother & less anxiety for the competitors.

Spot on Patrick. Those that run will have to run outside the facility in which weigh-in's are occurring...(run in hiding).
