Last nite Coach Travis Keal and Mill Valley put on a great dual meet. This was the first time I had ever seen the pep band in the stands-awesome! Also, during introductions, a kid's club wrestler ran out onto the mat with the varsity wrestler during introductions. You could tell these kids were just thrilled.

Great job in making a dual-meet format entertaining and exciting.

I helped officiate those matches and agree the band was a nice touch....the little kids did seem to enjoy the "mat time" as well.

Way to go Mill Valley to make the dual even better!

Shawnee Heights has had their pep band playing a last years dual with Gardner. It was a great atmosphere.

Gardner has had a "Blazer Buddy" night the past several years with Gardner Wrestling team and East Kansas team coming out to the mat at the face off with their Blazer varsity teammate. It is a cool thing.

This year the two Middle Schools in district had their dual at high school under the mat light. It was a great way to showcase wrestling at the next level.

The older I get the better I was!

Norton did a great job creating an awesome atmosphere when we had our dual with them last week. Great band, great announcer, great Norton crowd, and a cool spotlight. I felt like the Norton kids fed off the atmosphere and wrestled great.

We can get the crowd in Colby for duals, but it will be a cold day in a warm place before we can get the pep band to show up for a wrestling event!

Surely your AD has some pull? That guy coached a wrestling match or two in his day.

I know a couple times Fort Scott has had homecoming for a wrestling dual instead of a basketball game. Also had the band play for the dual those nights. It been awhile since we have had homecoming for a dual (2006) but it was a really good atmosphere plus by having homecoming during a wrestling meet we got people out to watch wrestling that have never watched the sport before.
