I took a look at the RPW site...
Evidently this is "real deal" wrestling done at the professional level. PAX TV is going to show it on television. At the website it also offers a good historical document on how wrestling became "fake" back in the 1920s. Most people don't know that wrestling use to be a huge sport in the U.S. with real professional champions.

Would definitely prefer my kids watch this kind of wrestling vs. the WWF garbage... assuming the "real wrestlers" bring real sportsmanship to the mat as well.

Consider this. With the dominance of wrestlers in the Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) I think the sport has a better chance than ever in succeeding. A lot of martial arts types are taking a long hard look at the the most ancient form of combative sport. Why, because they simply crushed all of the Kung-fu, Karate, guys that got into the ring (or octagon)in a no-holds barred competition. Only Brazilian Ji-jitsu and Russian Sambo comes close in second and third and they are both "grappling" and holds/submission type forms. I wish them the best. I hope they will avoid the temptation to try and make it TOO GLITZY. Wrestling is a beautiful sport when it is kept simple.

WELL STATED, I saw the same article in the USA Wrestling flier publication, & I felt the same way as you. Finally, real wrestling at it's finest for the entire nation/world to see without the dramatic unsport-man-like crap that W.W.F. portrays on T.V. Also, just to add to the martial arts aspect, which I greatly respect & admire. There has been a lot of college wrestlers that have taken up the sport of martial arts & have been tremendously successful due to their wrestling backround & experience. GOOD POST!!!!!!!!!!

I feel exactly the same as the previous two. Now we just need to get as many people as we can to tune in so it will stay on the air...

Don't argue with an idiot, people watching may not be able to tell the difference."

The show is going to be very exciting, I went w/Eric to LA, and the way everything is set up is so cool. RPW has been working on bios/stories on the wrestlers to show along w/the mathces. Spread the word to watch when it starts airing, if the ratings are high enough, ESPN may pick it up for next year...and keep the league going with Team duals around the USA.

if you haven't checked out the website--go to
