Let me start by saying, no I have never ran a tournament, but I have attended many with my son. I have never had to wait until the morning session was over to get a bracket for the afternoon session and then had to wait for it to print, while at the same small table, by the restrooms, they were still trying to hand out medals for the morning session. After getting my sons bracket, with three competitors, we waited for 3 hours for his first match, watching other competitors finsh and get their medals, leave and wait another hour for his final match (two total) and wait again for his medal and a semi gloss sheet for the first place bracket. How sad.

If you feel it necessary to criticize another club for the operation of their tournament, please follow Board Rules and leave your name?

Board Rules
This is a free forum, created for the purpose of promoting Kansas wrestling, and those who wrestle, through the exchange of thoughts and suggestions, and for the recognition of the accomplishments of those involved in our sport.

There are just two basic rules that are necessary to keep in mind. First, remember that this is a family oriented forum, and is regularly viewed by young wrestlers. Second, "cheap shots" will not be tolerated. If you are going to post a message critical of an individual, group or idea, you must give your true name and/or email address. Be willing to stand behind your comments, or keep them to yourself.

I understand your frustration,But all in all they did a pretty good job with all of the fairly new people that are in their club. Their brackets were small but they had a lot of great competition. It seems like they are trying to build their club up for the future and for that I applaud them. Our club is lucky enough to have a lot of veterans that have ran tournaments for years.I know the people of douglass will do their best to make that tournament better and better each year.

Would like to start by saying I know NOTHING about wrestling. I leave that to our great coaches. I was unable to attend the tournament yesterday due to other commitments. Our son is 4 years and just started attending tournaments. He was in 37# and under. He did lose both matches
He received a metal do to there being only 3 in his bracket. I understand time it takes for people with older kids and the longing for great competition to get better themselves. With that said he was very proud of his medal. Hopefully this will drive him to become better. Just a friendly reminder that all have to start somewhere. And with any luck when my son get older I don't forget this.

On a side note when my son's last match was over, the ref gave him the coin he used for the toss. Top shelf class job ref. I think is more proud of that than his medal

Douglas club members can't control who shows for their tournament. Columbus I believe decided to have their tournament which pulled alot of wrestlers that would have been at this tournament. The morning session got off to a slow start but you know what we got out at a reasonable time. All of the parents and coaches got along rather nicely from what I saw. Printing brackets ahead of time could have saved some time. The weather can also play into equation. I have not put a tournament on, but would like to THANK EVERYONE from 2010-2011 season that gave Kansas Youth a platform to wrestle on. Nice job! it has been great.

It is easy to see that this mom has never had to run a tournament let alone help with one. It takes a lot of time and commitment to get it all done. So thank you for doing what you do to help the kids of Kansas enjoy a Great day of wrestling no matter what.

i think it was a great run tournament, started on time, refs seemed great. we drove 4 1/2 hours just to wrestle there and the split session was great. we got 3 matches in and was gone by noon.

if people are going to complain about nothing, i am going to complain as well.

you guys could have done a better job with the weather outside it was a little cold and wet next year if you can make the sun come out and dry outside, you will get an a from us, as it stands we are only giving you a b due to the weather.
