Any way to find out how many of those 646 are 17 and older?

I personally don't have access to that information. Kathy Juby has all of the USA Card holder's dates of birth but then you would have to cross reference those names with the entries. Trackwrestling could probably get that information as I believe they have all of the dob's as well.

That is a good question - As a state are we losing more 15 & 16 year olds that is offset by the number of 17 & 18 year olds we gain. Or in total- what are the total number of 15 & 16 year olds say over the last 5 to 10 years?

We have growth overall but we are failing to get the majority of our members to enter into our state series.

We are not failing to get them into our state series. The best are leaving the state to go wrestle a dual tourny. Why would the rest of the kids want to win a state title knowing the best wrestlers are gone. It really wouldn't mean a whole lot to be State Champ knowing the best wrestlers are missing.

6 & Under 2,085
7 & 8 1,956
9 & 10 1,687
11 & 12 1,349
13 & 14 1,224
over 14 865

We are taking 28 HS Kids to Colorado for a dual meet. My guess is that if we didn't have this opportunity the majority, if not all, of these wrestlers would NOT have wrestled in the Kids State Series. We need a TRUE 6U state to give the 2,085 6U kids an opportunity.

We are missing out on drawing in more of the 6,000 plus kids who are 8,10,12, and 14.

665 of 865 over 14U, roughly, wrestlers have entered the Kansas Kids State Series.

Will,
I really am not trying to open this can of worms again so if you choose to pm me with a response or post it and we'll see where it goes. I am curious to know your honest opinion on the nber of 6&U's you think would participate in a "true" state championship. I have a 6 year old myself and will soon have a 4 year old wrestling next year so this is an issue I am familiar with and interested with. I know that at Ottawa we get on a rough average 350 kids and they do travel all over the state to get here. I just find it hard to believe that you think that you are going to get all 2,085 card holders at a "TRUE" 6u state championships. Not bashing Will, absolutely nothing personal, just wanting some light shed. Thanks
