BALDWIN CITY, Kan. – The Baker University wrestling team received its highest ever ranking in the four year history of the program on Wednesday in the NAIA Wrestling Coaches’ Preseason Top 20 Poll. The Wildcats start the Season Ranked #4 in the Naia.
Baker finished last season ranked No. 9 in the Final Poll of the 2012-13 season.
“We are very honored to receive the ranking and our kids have worked hard for it,” said head coach Jimmy May. “However, we know we still have a lot of work to do.”
The poll was voted upon by a panel of head coaches representing each of the Qualifying Groups.

Baker will begin the 2012-13 season at home on Sunday, Nov. 4 in the Dan Harris Open at the George F. Collins Center on campus.
The Wildcats feature a squad of 67 wrestlers and three returning NAIA All-Americans including senior Brandon Gebhardt (285 pounds), senior Jarid Price (184 pounds) and sophomore Robert Shadrach (184 pounds).
