just curious in the 4a state tourn to get in 11.00 per adult and 8.00 per child. what was other pricing at 321a and 5a-6a for gate pricing just curious, i beleive it was a little high for the venue at the bi center.

$12 for Adults $8 to kids. Too bad you wont be able to complain about the Bi-Centinial Center, you actually paid less.

11.00 and 7.00 at 321A. But we took in a backpack cooler and bag full of food. Great deal compared to Salina kids Tournament

I've just gotten accustomed to malnutrition (hot dogs, pizza, and sugar drinks), high prices, rude security, concessions closing before wrestling, antique arenas, and bad referees at any big time wrestling event. I still love the home town tournaments and long for the good ole days when state was held at individual high schools and the knowledgeable fan base filled the place to the rafters. Ask anyone who went to state in the 70s or 80s and they will tell you they wouldn't trade their state championship experience for any of the big moneymakers of today.

At Hartman Arena: It's ridiculous how expensive concessions were. Not quite as expensive as Arrowhead but in that range. And I agree, security was laughably inappropriate. The venue had more than enough time to clear the parking lot. Churches, stores and even small businesses had time to completely clear their parking lots. But not Billionaire Wink Hartman! It was treacherous leaving Friday night.

I like that venue but I certainly don't like the way it's managed. Wrestling was great!

Feel free to fill James Snodgrass' (arena manager) phone with complaints about Hatman Arena 744-8880! Seems to think he doesn't need to worry about customers! Puts a lifetime no trespass on me for saving seats for the wrestlers in 2012! Security (rent-a-cops) decided to start moving wrestlers bags, when asked why, they said you couldn't save seats for anyone, as she was poking her finger in my chest! As I kept questioning her she decided to kick me out, and James backed her totally! Next weekend when I came back for Kids Tournament they put a lifetime no trespass on me because I can't come back that soon after being kicked out!

It seems to me that the management of Hartman and the Bi-Centennial center need to go watch the 321A tournament at Hays to see how to run a tournament and treat the wrestlers and fans.

Total agree with you Crossface! PA system was terrible; Internet connection not good; Delays in some of the matches due to computer problems; Left a fortune$$ in Salina over 4 days. But the wrestling was great!!

Hartman not very fan or wrestler friendly. The daily bag checks of the wrestlers makes the TSA process at the airport look sane and efficent. Still have no idea why you can't touch or lean on the Loge seats that nobody was using. Who ever is in charge out there needs to understand the event and the crowd. It isn't a concert or a two hour sporting event. It is all day for two days. And Wink spring for another wireless router or two. Maybe you could use your cut from the $5 sodas.
Still the perfect size venue for the event. Would rather have it at a more laid back Hartman than at the individual High Schools. Always seemed Junction had a huge hometown advantage along with great teams and coaches in the early 80's.

cps51 i actually had a security guy come move some kids out of one of those booths. he was actually nice to me when i asked him why those were empty. he explained to me that businesses or people with money pay 10 grand for those booths. he said if you have permission from the name on that booth to sit there then you can. he said the name on that booth owns it and so they dont let anyone sit there or touch them. lol. just thought i would share that. i dont like the prices either as i took 1 child and myself to watch the finals and it cost me 20 bucks. i will probably continue to pay it in the future but will not be able to take all my kids to watch as i have been busy making kids in the past 16 years and have 5.

No problem with people not sitting in them. Seems a little silly not to be able to touch them

not to brag, but I got to go see all 4 sessions of the Oklahoma State tournament, with all 4 class tournaments in one location, for the grand total of $20.

Hartman Arena was ill-equipped to host a two-day wrestling tournament. The ticket lines were unfathomably long on the opening day, particularly since not all ticket windows were open. The parking lot was a mess. The slush in the parking lot on Friday was never cleared during the day, and turned into a massive sheet of ice by night. It was a wonder that the elderly people I saw trying to get to their cars didn't fall and break a hip on a surface which would have been more suited to an ice skating rink. It was a miracle that the one-legged man on crutches was able to get to his car at all.

Problems with the clock on one of the 6A mats caused lengthy delays in the middle of a match on more than one occasion, allowing winded wrestlers who were losing plenty of time to catch the breath. The comprehensive team scores were never posted anywhere in the arena during the entire tournament. The most ridiculous ineptitude was in their having to ask everyone in the arena to turn off their iPads and other electronic devices so that they would have enough bandwidth to stream the matches. That is totally unacceptable for a building as new as this arena.

I agree with several others who posted that the concessions were ridiculously expensive for a high school event.

regarding the pricing...it did state on the website that the tickets were $10 adult and $7 kids. Not until you go to pay do you see the sign they posted that said $12 adults and $8 kids.

Venue Works is the managing company for Hartman Arena. Barbara Beisker (bbeisker@venueworks.com) is the person to send you complaints and compliments to. Good Luck getting things fixed.
