Smart move for all teams honestly. Oklahoma had a Big 12 Champ that didn't get into the NCAA this year because of the non-auto status.

I agree....I also believe Brewer would have received a much higher seed if the B12 would have been a qualifier. I think Wyoming, NDSU, SDSU and UVU will be somewhat competitive. However, N. Colorado, and AF my struggle. The move may help WWC's recruiting.
It would be great if we could get more traditional B12 colleges with wrestling. It really surprises me that a Texas (and Kansas) school does not have a D1 program!

I think now would be the time to push the other Big XII Schools on adding with a 10 member wrestling conference. You could also convince schools geographically located that aren't in the Big XII to add wrestling and become associate members like Tulsa, Wichita State, Creighton, and UMKC.

I don't know why but I am unable to copy and paste the link to the article. Simply look up NDSU to join BIG 12 by Dan Gunderson on google to find the article.
North Dakota State, Air Force, South Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Utah Valley and Wyoming will all be joining the BIG XII conference, which will mean no more Western Wrestling Conference.
I suppose the best thing to say is, "you can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs" because this is both negative and positive news at the exact same time.
It's positive to know that BIG XII wrestling will remain in tact and overall that is more important. It shows the BIG XII, a major sports conference that wrestling refuses to go away. It'd be awesome if it persuaded both Kansas and Kansas State to reinstate wrestling as it's nothing short of a travesty that a state that produces talent like Zach Roberson and Shawn Bunch can't have at least one DI opportunity for their wrestlers.
On the other side, this is yet another conference with a rich history that we will never see again. First it was the East Regional and then the Colonial Athletic Association. Now it's the West Regional(as it was known for years)/Western Wrestling Conference.
