I see lots of wrestling mat cleaners on the market to clean wrestling mats but after reading the ingredients I'm positive these are not safe to use "during" a match for the reasons that many of them have such warnings as "can cause blindness" "irreversible skin damage may occur", "wear rubber gloves and allow to completely dry" etc. Does anyone know what to use during a match that would be safe for the kids but still disinfecting enough to do the job of preventing spread of certain diseases? In the past few years I have had my child in the wrestling program I have too often went to a match where I was allowed to be the coach and was not prepared with everything I needed to handle certain situations such as nosebleeds, or even the occasional kid who likes to bite my child during a match. For us personally I decided to go ahead and purchase a first aid kit with a variety of supplies for these type of situations but am uncertain what cleaner to use in a situation where blood may be spilled so have so far just depended on the tournament to provide a cleaner rather than use something that is unsafe, and the tournament having a cleaner to use hasn't always been the case, often we have found there is nothing available if you didn't bring your own. I think parents should educate themselves on the first aid procedures and cleaners used so we all know that what someone else's coach is using will be safe for your child as well as what you are using yourself. What is in the bottles at the tables? What is acceptable to be considered safe, not too harsh but still effective. Thanks in advance, be safe out there.
