Wow!!!

Team Kansas had some great competition today in Oakland, California at the CYC Junior World Greco Duals. After an awesome teaching clinic from our USA Greco Olympians last night, we hit the mats this morning only to be awakened by the team from Hungary in round one, losing 34-20. Next up was a very tough Sweden team who beat us 29-25. We had the lead going into the 215 match as Dylan Prince was up 4-1 before losing by fall to a beast from Sweden. We then woke up and punished California 43-12 and rolled Utah 46-9 to finish 2-2 in duals on the day. We open tomorrow morning against Team USA and finish with Norway before starting the individual tournament!

We are all heading down to see the sights in San Francisco tonight. Chinatown, North Beach, Alcatraz... staying out of trouble of course!

Individual dual records today:

Koelzer - 4-0
Feyh - 4-0
Treaster - 3-1

What a finish!

As we started the final day of competition, we were staring at our last two opponents of the dual format. Team USA and the undefeated Skandinavia team. I will post individual results later but we narrowly lost 25-20 to Team USA and then won an epic battle with the Skandinavian team! The crowd was going crazy as Dylan Service pinned his foe in dramatic fashion! We had our USA Olympians Robby Smith and Jesse Thielke in our corner!! Final score.... TEAM KANSAS 29 SKANDINAVIA 27!!

I will write more later but this was an incredible experience. I could not be more proud of our Kansas team.
