Sorry for the mistake on Aaron, I saw his post on my guestbook this morning and put down the wrong city. I have corrected it. I will say to JayHawkster, there are a number of great little wrestlers in this division from across the state. Good luck to all and take it one match at a time.

Your right! I guess what I meant to say is all you need to do in the other districts is sign up and make weight and your in state. Can you tell were frustrated? Maybe an habitual state placer from D2 will get a chance to stay home for state.

They should modify the rules for those weight classes that have very few wrestlers in them. These weight classes won't even be filled at state because of the sub-district/district placement rules. There should be an allowance to at least have other districts fill up the 16 man bracket at state no matter the numbers from each. (i.e. if district 3 only has 3 wrestlers then say district 2 can fill the fourth slot with their 5th place wrestler.)

I believe District 3 & 4 will be the only Districts with open slots. I know that D1 will be full, and I think D2 will also.

Mr. Furches,

I told you! 1,2,3,4. I guess you only notice these things when your own son is on the fringe of the weight class form hell!!

JayHawkster, I agree that this is an issue that needs to be looked at on a state level as has been discussed several times before. I don't know the specifics of it but know that those empty slots could have easily been filled at state to allow for a full bracket. Not to take anything away from any other district in this weight class but it does seem as if our District, District 2, at least this year was loaded in this weight and division and could have possibly placed the top 6 in state out of our district alone. I also know this; these are all great kids not just in our district but across the state. I hope that some of them will freestyle / Greco this Spring and Summer, if so we will see them there. Good luck next year and keep working hard through the off-season.
