Washburn Rural is going to beef up the schedule next year by taking one or multiple trips out of state. Coaches with experience traveling to out-of-state competitions: what are the best/most difficult tournaments you have experienced within the 500 mile rule, and why would you recommend that tournament over out-of-state competitions?

The fact that girls are forced to wrestle at state in the middle of the week is laughably sexist.

Texas Outlaw Tournament, Allen TX http://wrestlingtexas.com/2016/12/28/texas-outlaw-preview/ Over Christmas break. Kansas Teams included Garden City, Goddard, St James and Olathe North. Talk to those guys and they can tell you it's probably the toughest tournament in Texas.

It is pretty simple, here are the top 10 HS tournaments:
1. Walsh Ironman (OH) 2. The Clash (MN) – by invitation “team” event – dual format 3. Beast of the East (DE) 4. The PowerAde (PA) 5. Cheesehead (WI) 6. Doc Buchanan (CA) 7. Kansas City Stampede (MO) 8. Reno TOC (NV) 9. Dvorak (IL) 10. Minnesota Christmas (MN)
From this list you can hit the Clash, if you get invited, this year you would have had one day of practice before you had to leave...KC Stampede, if they will add you. Dvorak, IL ? Haven't checked the mileage... use mapquest.com and use Wathena, KS as the from, must be under 500 ROAD miles... Minnesota Christmas...
Obviously we are pretty well restricted by KSHSAA and Gary the Great, who by the way has announced his retirement a year and a half ahead of time... Jeeze just give your two weeks notice and go fishing...PLEASE
Other tournaments: Geary, OK Allen, TX Council Bluffs, IA Lepic Duals, Iowa City West Top of the Rockies - Denver area Flatwater Fracus in Nebraska
Heck... You could try: Bobcat, Newton, Garden City, Gardner, Platte County,

Is there a related rule for traveling with the team on an athlete or athletes who are on Double Secret Probation?
