Sunday the 4th there is a Bronze coaching clinic in Manhattan!

Sunday the 11th there is a Bronze coaching clinic in Iola!

As a pre-requisite you must hold a current USAW Coaches membership card!

There will be more opportunities announced later!

USA Wrestling in their coaches education program has a four pronged certification. It begins at Copper, which is designed for the parent that is gaining a bit of knowledge about the sport. It concludes with the Gold.

While the Copper is much improved, in the last few years, I don't believe it holds a candle to the value of the Bronze certification. Kansas, has 2,700 Bronze coaches. Kansas easily ranks as the number one State in the number of Bronze coaches.

The Copper is geared toward the Parent while the Bronze is aimed at Coaches.

Plus, your Bronze card allows you free entry into a lot of the USAW Regional and National level events.

I could go on but hope this will help!

Hey Randy, ready for Silver Baby, ready for Silver. By the way for those that don't know Randy is one of the few Gold coaches in the country, a great guy and great promoter of the sport. Regarding his signature, the answer to that question for him is without a doubt, yes.

Randy,
I have 5 up here in Atchison that need a bronze card.

Is there anyone else in northeast Kansas that needs to attend a bronze clinic? If so let me know so we can get Randy up here soon.

Ned, Hiawatha and Horton have a few! I'm thinking that maybe Coach Crouse would take the lead in a course in your area!

I have heard that Bronze Cards could be acquired by taking a course on line. This might be the best option for some new coaches. I don't know if the course is still offered on line. Does anyone know?

It is the copper that can be taken on line, and yes I believe it is still available. I would personally recommend that if coaching that the individual go to a clinic. I am thinking of having my wife do the copper on line for the simple reason that it still gets her into events like Fargo for free and gives basic understanding. I don't think it is nearly as good for coaches though, jmo.

Yes, the Copper is available on-line. But it is more expensive than the Bronze also.

Hey Ed, thanks for the info. You and Jenny
are always on top of things! I look forward
to participating in Dist. II. I have heard that
it is one of the toughest districts and always
have excellent numbers at state.
