This Rule HAS NOT CHANGED!

From the 2002-2003 NFHS Wrestling Rule Book, page 16, Rule 4, Section 5, Article 4; "When there are consecutive days of team competition, there shall be a 1-pound additional allowance granted each day for all wrestlers. In order to be granted this 1-pound additional allowance, a minimum of 48 hours advance notice is required for the opponent(s).

2003-2004 National Federation of High School Associations Major Rule Changes
National Federation Of State High School Associations

2003-04 Major Wrestling Rules Changes

1-3-2c State associations that have hydration and body fat testing along with a program to monitor an average weight loss of 1.5% a week, with descent, may use the minimum weight determined by the body fat testing as the lowest weight a wrestler may wrestle during the state series instead of at least one-half of their weigh-in during the season as stated in Rule 1-3-2b (states may still use the 50% rule, if they wish, even though they meet the above criteria).

4-2-4 If an on-site physician is present, he/she may overrule the diagnosis of the physician who has indicated, in writing, that the apparent skin condition is not communicable.

5-2-5i If near-fall criteria have been met and the defensive wrestler applies an illegal hold, commits unnecessary roughness or an unsportsmanlike act; near-fall points earned will be awarded in addition to the penalty point(s) for the infraction(s).

6-6-4 The timeframe for correcting the computation of a match score or team score is now 30 minutes.

8-2-5 If a physician/medical staff determines an injured wrestler should not continue, even though consciousness is not involved, they shall not be overruled.

9-2-2 In dual-meet competition, should teams have identical scores, a tie-breaking system shall be utilized to declare a winner.

Other Changes
3-1-3; 3-2-2d, j; 4-1-1a; 4-5-2; 5-2-5f, g, h; 6-7-1; 7-1-5d; 8-1-2c, d, e, f; 8-1-5; 9-1-7; 9-2-1e; 9-2-3b; 9-2-3h; 10-1-1; 10-3-3; photo section

Chill out Richard. Last year there was duel on the Thursday before the tournament therefore giving us one pound on Friday and two pounds on Saturday. This year that duel has been moved to Wednesday. That's it.
