Super Duper Mystery Man---our guy that has it gets a pre-symptom of his lymph nodes swelling up prior to an outbreak. He immediately begins to take his valtrex. 2 days later small pimples form on his forehead, and 3-4 days later his forehead is dry and scaley which indicates the herpes is in remission. We might be talking about different wrestlers, but it appeared as if you were talking about my guy. Sorry for jumping on you. This is an issue I take very seriously.

Until recently I have never dealt with it before---of course I have dealt with ringworm which is an expensive issue. We ordered saniVex to dissenfect our mats this year. It costs around $600 for a starter kit which last the whole season. I can tell you that after using it this year we have not had one outbreak of ringworm in our room. It has been a total effort on the part of the wrestlers to keep clean and coaches/managers to keep our mats clean. The one thing we can't control is when we wrestle someone else.

I am sorry if I made anyone upset but you can not wrestle with a skin problem. If you do you are breaking the rules. I had a kid in the past that was d-qued along time ago for having simple dry skin. I either case just follow the rules and that way everyone id safe. Peace.

Tape eroom
I was at washburn last year when that happend. I think you need to check your logic. The refs obviosly had a probblem with it or they would not have disqualified you. The skin disease is obviosly bad enough and infectous enough to stop a tournment and wash down all the mats. When you do something like that you are putting others at risk. Why, so you get one more match in, while maybe costing other wrestlers their next meet. I think that the wrestling community would appreciate the next time you have a rash if you would have it treated and cured before stepping back out on to the mat.

Good thing it was not Lancaster, Carlson or Bingham that had the skin disease or you would have been teaching that Friday of the state tourney--huh Luedke?

The main thing would seem to be to get it cleared as soon as possible. By not treating it you run the risk of spreading it to not only your team but anyone they wrestle or wrestles on the mat you were just on. As a coach if I had to sit a wrestler out for ringworm it would be for the team, the sport and last because it is in the rule book. Westling gets a bad enough rap with out the people who know and understand the sport giving wrestling a black eye by knowingly breaking the rules. This applies to wrestlers and coachs. Do the right thing for wrestling and go to the doctor so no one else is in the same boat you are in.

That is right coach B. Who are you? I checked your e-mail address and I can not figure out who you are. You remember Kurth Lancaster? You got to be from Kinsley. He was a great kid to coach. Tough as nails.

Scott did not qualify while at Kinsley. Must have qualified at Burlingame. No idea who the Parsons kid is. Lancaster and Carlson were pretty good before their senior year.

Lamisil works good if you poor boys can't afford to get the prescription. But if you have it DON'T wrestle. I almost missed regionals one year because some dirty wrestler gave it to me.
