Hays is this weekend, correct? Who is going to be there, are there any new teams, and any interesting matchups? Any any answers, thoughts, etc.?

Schools in attendance this year are St Francis, Oakley, Ulysses, Wakeeney, Ellis, Phillpsburg, Dodge City, Hoisington, Russell, Ellsworth, Goodland, Thomas More Prep, Salina Central, Shawnee Heights, McPherson, Buhler, Campus and new this year is Leoti.
Best weight class looks to be 125 if all show Levi Younkin (OAK) Tait Weatherbee (TMP) Dylan Lloyd (STF) Matt Warta (ELSW) Levi Sides (MCPH) Dexter Deeds (GOOD), Joey Ortiz (ULYS)
Next Best would be 275 with Bedore (GOOD) Lewis (ULYS) Honas (ELLIS) Sterneker (MCPH)
We have 47 returning Classic placers back with 38 of those ranked in the top 6 of their respective classes. 27 State placers with 10 of those wrestliing in the State finals last year with 6 State Champs.
WHATEVER IT TAKES

125lb weight class will be very tough. I believe the Ellis kid (John Kroegor) will be at that weight also and he went a one point match-up with Warta at the Ellsworth Tourney fianals match. The 321a state finals match could be a replay from this tournament. This has always been a great ran tournament, probably in my opinion, the best ran tournament in the state. You will see at this tourney, some of the greatest match-ups in the state.

Blue Coach:
I agree that the State Tournament at Hays is outstanding – well organized and well run – truly a class act – Also usually fantastic hospitality room – And the people who organize and keep up the brackets for the internet are top notch (if they are from Ellis you should be very proud of them) – I for one, am impressed by the software they put together. Also the brackets that are posted at various locations on the walls (at Gross Memorial) are normally accurate and kept current.

171 lbs has Malloy of Shawnee Heights who should be ranked #1 in 5A after winning the Bobcat Tournament, and Ross of St. Francis who is #2 in 1-2-3A and Homier of Russell who is #5 in 1-2-3A.
