ANYONE REMEMBER MARK BRANCH FROM OKLAHOMA STATE A FEW YEARS BACK?

LOSING RECORD, WRESTLED 177 AND 190 DURING HIS FRESHMEN YEAR, QUALIFIED THROUGH THE BIG 5, THEN WON THE NATIONAL TITLE.

RECORDS DON'T MEAN CRAP! YOU THINK ITS TOUGHER TO MAKE IT TROUGH THE BIG FIVE OR THE BIG 10? IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT REGINAL YOUR IN OR NOT. NOR DOES IT MATTER WHAT YOUR RECORD IS.

DEFINITION OF LUCK: 1. BEING AT THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME. 2. PREPERATION MEETING OPORTUINITY.

Nobody enjoys watching a losing record wrestle a stud @ state except maybe their Mommy's. The joy comes from a 4th place kid wrestling a 1st place kid and maybe has a chance to win. You need to quit lying to yourselves so maybe we can solve this problem. I am a huge wrestling fan and I think that if we keep letting this problem go we will eventually hurt Kansas wrestling. Bernie this is the only name I use.

This issue has been beaten to death the last couple of years that I have watched this forum. I know some regionals seem easier than others and they are at some weights, but in each regional there are weights that are stacked. When my son wrestled he pounded several people that made it to state, but because he went to the Larned Regional and could not put it together, he sat at home. Did he whine about it, NO. He put it together and focused on the next year. The next year we went to the El Dorado regional and he qualified. Did he say it was because his bracket was easy, NO. He stayed focused on the job at hand.

For Pupsforever. My saying to my Scouts and wrestlers is "If you want fair - Go to Hutchinson there is one every year. Other than that Life is never guaranteed to be fair."

Other than Grand state, the system we have is as good as it gets. Are there problems, yes, but it is run without bias. Either work to improve wrestling in your region or live with what appears to be unfairness. Then see previous quote.
