Simon is for real and will be a force for each of the next three years. Pretty successful household - Ben Orozco was a 2x champ and 2x runner-up and Simon is 1 for 1 in state finals appearances.
Would not have called 119 weak last year.
(place @ state last year, individual, school, age, season record) 1st Spillman, Hoxie, jr (33-3) 2nd Orozco, Ellsworth, fr (34-7) 3rd Olson, Oberlin, sr (32-7) 4th Lamar, Silver Lake, fr (32-8) 5th Caruthers, Wellsville, jr (29-6) 6th Lutes, Stafford, sr (25-4)
Young, but certainly not weak.

I don't think he was a fluke 34 times last year as well as fluking his way into the finals. I've watched him over the past several years, and I think he's plain old tough.

Simon has been a Kids' state champ also. I doubt that was a fluke. His brother, as Les said, was a great wrestler and Simon is also. I believe Ben was also a state champ in cross country. Simon is great youngster and no one should be talking negatively about his accomplishment as a freshman. Good luck Simon.

I agree, Simon is a solid wrestler. But there are results from last night on a dual (Ellsworth - TMP) and Simon got pinned by a Freshman, he was Tait Weatherbee. I've seen this kid wrestle before, he is extremely smooth and a smart wrestler... maybe someone to watch out for this year. If anyone knows who he is, or what weight he will be at this year... let me know!

Sure, I know Tait Weatherbee. He is a very good freshman wrestler from TMP out of Hays. He has been in the kids program from when he was born almost, because his dad is a coach. I feel that if he stays at 125 than he could do something very good this year, but I heard that he's dropping to 119. I was excited when he pinned Orozco, but not suprised, because Tait has the capabilities to go all the way this year.
