Ok guys, with the pressure of regionals coming up.
And me being a guy partial to the big guys. How about some comic relief here. Tell us your funniest heavy weight stories.

I will start it out, our heavy at a small 321A school in the 80s, was a multiple state placer.

But had some strange habits, he and his brother one time missed practice over xmas break because they were shooting at the other with .22s. and hitting one another.

He also drank a ketchup for quick energy and had a habit of leaving fresh whole milk in his locker the day of the match, letting it curdle and eating the cream and curds off the top.

I once heard one of our assistant coaches talking about a heavyweight during their time who's warm up consisted of stretching one arm while finishing off his big mac with his other. Surprisingly I think our coach said the kid won most of his matches.

When I was in high school, there was no weight limit for heavy. Our heavy was always eating, on the bus, in the van, in the gym while we were waiting to weigh, in the gym after we weighed, etc., and of course the rest of us were always hungry and always wanted his food. He knew that we were out to get his food and would snatch it if we could. His strategy to break us was that as soon as he broke out his cinnamon roll, cup cake, fruit pie or whatever it was, he immediately so that everyone was sure to see it spit horrendously on his food. We of course were gagged out and he proceeded to chow down. After that, we usually were not as hungry.

Last year at Regionals in Hoisington we were in the lockeroom changing, and our Heavyweight at the time, has a huge mole on his face probably about the size of a quarter or so and he's white so that brown quarter stuck out like a sore thumb, and we were in the lockeroom making fun of him and Cimmaron was in there too, then all of a sudden a guy from there chimed in and helped us out, then all of sudden we stopped and our own heavyweight felt the need to make fun of himself, he did this for about 10 minutes using nothing of Austin Powers Lines and stuff we used on him, shows the intelligence of some people

My cousin Layne Stoll from Oakley was a State Champ in '94. His patented move was: step on his opponents' toes and push them backward. Worked against a lot of "fish." It's amazing to me though that he wasn't recruited by any colleges.

The same HWT. once tried to tell us he didn't eat anything but "a little roast beef and some water" a night when he left 5lbs. under and came back 2lbs. over......explain that? he pissed me off though because he ran off his 2lbs. while i was running off my 1lbs. (I was a BIG 103) and i couldn't make weight and ran for an hour that morning and he ran off his 2 in 20 minutes

Today I caught our heavyweight standing in the corner nonchallant and just kinda watching everyone else in a melodramatic stare. I stopped wrestling my partner when I noticed he was rubbing his bellybutton. He had a tight maroon UnderArmor Shirt on and seemed to be gettin pleasure from it?! I yelled out loud "Hey Kyler wtf are you doing man?" Right then everyone in the room turned, looked and began cracking up as he slowed his rub down to nothing and blushed. Poor kid...no ladies in his life.

I was one of those hvy that felt sorry for the other wrestlers. I use to run with whoever need to lose weight. Got me into shape and I never ate in front of them- matter of fact they would complain because I never had to cut weight and everyone else did. back in my day their was no 215 so if you were 220 you just maintained. Nothing funny about Hvy weight is there *L*. We get made fun of all the time. We never shoot. We are never the Most outstanding wrestler even if we pin everyone we wrestler. And we are fat. Thank for the memory lane here

Good Luck all this weekend

When I was coaching I threw a cheeto at Mhil Panuel when he was getting out of the shower. It stuck to his boob. He ate it.

Ole' Clarence Cox was our heavy weight at Salina Central back in 1978. We went out to Atwood for a Quadangular. Now Clarence was African-American, a black guy. Want to political correct for all the people who think this is racist who if they know me know it ain't true, the racist part not the story.

But the Atwood Heavyweight bit Clarence on the arm I think. We all teased him and said you know how you heavy weights are you'll eat anything and they don't get too many black guys out here so he wanted to see if we all taste the same.

While I was at Imac, we had a 215-pounder, Kris Wright, who wasn't bad at times. He was only about 5-9 or so, though. His junior year we're at St. Mary's and Kris' quarterfinal round opponent was the 6-6 Cory Tinklin from Sabetha. Kris had has back turned, talking to me and hadn't seen Tinklin before he went out on the mat. He turned, saw Tinklin, turned back to me with his eyes fearfully wide and yelled "Are you sure this is MY mat?"

I remember John Paul Shepherd wrestling hwt for Chapman in the late 90's for us. We had both made the finals of the Minneapolis tournament and were lined up according to top and bottom of the bracket. Well at 215 and 275 we both had Norton guys in the finals.

I looked next to me and thought the Norton guys are all mixed up the guy next to me might have weighed 190 soaking wet and the guy I had to face looked like a pissed off bulldog that devoured the entire buffet!

I asked the Norton kid next to me if he was sure he was in the right spot, and he said yea, "I'm the HWT!" I looked at the Bulldog across from me (who had beaten 2x 4a champ Matt Vogelsburg earlier in the tournament) and thought oh my luck.

After the introduction of the finalists I went over and talked to John Paul (keep in mind he looks like Chris Farley and is just as big). He tells me that he's going to toss around this lil punk. Well after my hard fought match which I lost by 5, John comes out to wrestle.

I just start getting my warmups back on and as I toss my top over my head I proceed to see John Paul and all of his 275lb glory get tossed like a sack of potatoes! He got launced into orbit, I mean soles of his feet saw the top of the roof! After his whooping he received I asked him how he felt.

He said, "I had him at the handshake, but then the ref had to blow that **** whistle!"
