I am sure things will shift but Eudora and Mill Valley are 8 minutes apart and have tournaments the same weekend.

Nebraska format might work out good for both of these tourneys if they could work it out together, then maybe people could go to BOTH tournaments on the same day since they are so close together driving wise.

Example:

6U wrestle from 9:00-11:00 at Eudora, while at the same time 14U wrestle at Mill Valley

10U wrestle from 11:00-1:00 at Eudora, while at the same time 8U wrestle at Mill Valley.

or something along those lines, it could be a win-win situation for both clubs if they are willing to work together for it.

Either way it would mean more matches for the children on a particular day, might see more competition or might see all the same competition, but mat time is still mat time. Unless there is some rule against entering into 2 different tournaments in the same day for some reason, i see no problem with it, and would gladly enter my child in both tournaments.

All,

Mill Valley did switch last year to the split format tourney. I believe things went smooth.

We will do the same this year, SPLIT FORMAT!

It is unfortunate that Eudora changed the date of their tournament and it happened to fall the same weekend we have ours. Some times we are only able to work with the weekends that we are able to rent the schools facilities.

This is the only weekend we are able to use our school.

You do bring up an interesting thought.

Mill Valley plans to wrestle 6 & 8's from 9 - noon. Then shortly after noon/12:30 we will start the 10, 12 and 14's. Maybe Eudora could do the opposite?

Thoughts.....

It seems like it would be a problem for most clubs to try to have coaches at two different sites on the same day.

My son is going to be in high school this year, but we would choose the Mill Valley tournament. It is closer to us, we prefer the split format, and we have always liked the tournament. Chances are when the tournaments are this close and predominantly local you would be wrestling pretty much the same competition at both tournaments. I would not want my son to do that on the same day. One of the tournaments should probably try to change to at least Sunday.
