Does anyone know why Flenthrope from Salina Central didn't wrestle this weekend at the Hays tourney? I was hoping to see him there, and dissapointed when I heard he wasn't there.

Chris has been sick since the first weekend in January. He is now battling pneumonia. He is getting better, but recovery isn't as fast as he was hoping it would be.

I have heard a lot about Flenthrope a lot during the past year or two. I never had the opportunity to watch him until this weekend. I was most impressed with him even though he only took 3rd in a very tough weight. I was even more impressed sitting right beside central and watching the way he treated his team, family, peers etc. Hats off and good luck. Did I understand correctly that his finals 3rd place match with Beard was a re-match of the 5A title last year?

No, Beard's asst. coach blew his knee out like a day before state and he didnt get to wrestle so Flenthrope ended up beating B.Russel of Liberal in the 5A Finals.
