Coaches Please help me out. My Hwt Michael Sprigg just finished his career with his 4th State Medal all at 275 lbs. I know that there must be other 4 x HWT State Placers but can not think of any off the top of my head.
Coaches Please respond if you know of any other 4 x Hwt medalist. What makes it rare will be that fact that all 4 medals must have been won at the 275 lb. weight class.
Now that you do not have practice to attend. Go to work on this homework assignment.

I think Atwood had one in the early 1970's. That was well before my time, but I remember people talking about it. His name was Dave Brown and I was told that he went 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 1st. I think all at HWT. Maybe someone living in Atwood could clear this up??

Tad Greer was a 4 x medalist but it was 1 at 189 2 at 215 and 1 at HWT. he would have been a state champ if it wasn't for Jordan Bedore. seemed to always meet up with him in semi's or in finals.

Everyone needs an inspiration like Tyler. He fought harder than anyone ever has on a wrestling mat and it was for his life.

I had a telephone call saying that
Shad Jacobs, (Phillipsburg), was a 4 X's State placer.

I think that the Greive (sp) brothers from Osborne could also be in this category although no conformation yet.

The Grieve brothers from Osborne weren't 4-timers. The oldest - Kenny did place (3rd?), but not 4x. The middle brother - Larry - was a 3x state champ all at HWT and would have for sure (IMO) been a 4x HWT placer except he couldn't beat Kenny out for varsity his Freshman year. The youngest - Richard - did not grow as fast and wrestled 185 his Junior year placing second and then HWT his senior year placing 1st. When it was all said and done Larry and Richard were two of the best HWT's to ever come out of Kansas.

If I remember right - there was also a very good HWT from Norton that was the second best in Kansas for a couple of years - the only problem was the best HWT was the varsity wrestler from Norton.

I think Rick is correct about Brown from Atwood.

I think Les Zuege from St Francis was a 4 time Hwt placer back in the early 70's. 4th, 3rd, 1st,1st. ?

Jon Beal of Atchison County was a four time state placer at Heavyweight 1981 through 1984.
