Man guys, I've seen a lot of words spelled incorrectly on this site, and I don't mean names. I saw someone spell the word "fear" as "feer." We are also screwing up the word "you're" with "your." Come on now! Pick up the slack!

Let me just say this, some of us have way more important things to do then worry about everyone else's spelling an grammer. I sometimes type really fast and I don't really feel the need to go back and spell check my writings. But thank you for a completly worthless waste of a forum topic.

First, it's "grammar," not "grammer"...However, it's a post like yours Nigel that prove that some wrestlers are not the brightest people on the planet...Second, get a backbone---Someone razzes you a bit and you get bent out of shape...Well boo hoo...Third, if you are attempting to become a journalist, even if it is a part-time gig with the Abilene paper, you better learn how to spell correctly and use proper grammar...You won't last long in the biz...

The overall failure of the educational system, from the public schools to higher education, to adequately educate our children is quite evident with the many postings on this web forum.
Where I came from, English Composition 101 and 102 both required proper sentence structure and spelling. Apparently not the case today!
While Aaron and Nigel may not realize this fact, their improper use of English skills reflect poorly on their educational integrity.

Spelling should be a priority if you are going to post. You might be posting something really funny, but it will be lost sometimes if you spell the punchline incorrectly. Take for instance, arguably the greatest wrestling talk forum member of all time, Prant Garker. His spelling and syntax are impeccable! The hilarity of his witty banter is increased 10 fold by this. So while you don't have to write like Shakepeare to post on the forum, that doesn't mean you should write like Huckleberry Finn instead.

Here's a famous quote,
"A man's intelligence should not me measured by their willingness to proofread"
Generally I don’t care what people have to say about me as long as it’s somewhere in the realm of truth. But to call someone unintelligent simply because they misspell a few words because they choose not to proofread is very childish. Technically GorillaWaek there is no such word as “hoo”, and your colorful use of “…” in places where they should not be are bad grammar. But you won’t see me in here whining and complaining about it.
Richard, you missed a period or colon after the salutation. Also you missed a comma after 102 in your second sentence, go ahead and check it its defiantly incorrect punctuation.
So you can see why it’s foolish to sit here and berate others on their so-called “English Skills,” when most people in here do the same thing. In the real world that is what we like to call hypocritical. I make mistakes in my writings and I’m going to continue to simply because I choose not to worry that every little thing I write is perfect, so as to make certain people happy. If you think that this makes me unintelligent then that makes you nothing more than a judgmental bigot.

I don't think that it makes you less intelligent, I am merely saying as a service to the readers of this forum, try and make your posts readable. I am not refering to people like you Mr. Nigel Isom. I am refering to the people who do not even use periods or capitalization.
im talkgni about peeple who's posts genrilly look lik this, theyr filld with comma splices and never seeme 2 end.

I would like to state that compaired to a majority of the wrestling community in the state, I feel that I'm pretty well educated. I don't know what the standard is for English across the state but we had to take 4 years of English with standard Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior English and then Comp1 and 2 for senior year. I'm glad to see that we have people in the wrestling community that are altruistic, we need many more people like that who constructively care. Thanks!
BTW...Nigel you are going to work for the Abilene Paper?

Spelling is important to some and not others. This is a wrestling talk forum but it is done in the form of spelling. LOL What this group needs to do is focus on the quality of Kansas Highschool wrestlers. Its sad enough that Kansas doesnt really have much to offer ( I'm not saying none at all) in the way of wrestling scholarships but a good percentage of the ones that are available are given to out of state kids. So instead of beating good people down for their spelling, why not work on the positives and lets improve our wrestling by not belittling everyone with a typo and get in some quality conversation about our mat time.

Let me start off by saying- JB82, thank you.
I have been a leader in the Proper Spelling Movement, and I don't think JB82 is asking too much. We don't care if you misspell a few words here and there, because we're all human. (Even I only finished 2nd in the Theodore Roosevelt Elementary spelling bee.) However, if you get on the forum and start blasting someone else, you should at least check your own spelling in an effort to keep yourself free of return insults.
For instance: "Nigel, your a jerk." Possible Witty Nigel Reply: "No, sir. YOU are the jerk, for you can not distinguish when you need to use a contraction in your writings."
See? See how easy and effective and witty that is?
Nigel, I'm sure you're extreeeeeemely busy, but perhaps if you would spend less time replying when someone throws a minor insult your way, you could spend more time proofreading your posts.
And like I've told you before--it's grammAr. Not grammEr. Because you've been corrected before, it's no longer a spell check issue. It's a brain issue.

I too, try to be a disciple of Prant's PSM. In fact, I hope to be a card-carrying member of the party. I was just wondering, is extreeeeemly spelled with 5 e's or 6? I believe "pleeeease" is spelled properly but geeeezzzz, I am getting another headache!

No I don't work for the Abilene paper, I never had any plans too and I’m not sure where that came from but oh well. As I said before I don't really mind all that much is someone chooses to insult me in one way or another. What I do mind is hypocritical comments made in these forums. How are you going to come on here and talk about the way someone else writes and then make mistakes yourself. My intent is not to be witty most time. Normally I am just trying to ge ta point or opinion across. I don't generally want to be seem as a smart*** which is the next step past witty and its a very fine line indeed. As for education there probably aren't too many people on here that have said negative things about me who list more academic achievements than I have. So smartness is not really an issue here. By my only request is that if you are going to make a comment about another at least have the decentcy to make sure you are not falling under the same category.

Dear Randy:
You are beginning to rival Prant for humor.
Thank you for the good laugh!

Everyone is welcome in the Proper Spelling Movement, provided they adhere to party guidelines of trying their best to spell all posts in the best interests of the people. Just recently the PSM formed a coalition with the Proper GrammAr Movement in an effort to counteract the likes of Nigel and rocknraider. There is to be no animosity between the coalition and these two members, just divergent views.
And the number of eeeee's in "extreeeeemely" is left up to the magnitude of the extreme-ness.

To the President and Founder of the PSM (not to be confused with PMS, which my wife owns those titles), Mr. Prant Garker, I will try diligently (or is it diligently try), to uphold the Charter of the PSM. I will try to use "spell check" (unless I'm really tired). But, I have an inquiry! Why is phonetics not spelled the way it sounds? Geezzzz, back to bed, I have another headache.

Prant, did you ever consider that some people may spell incorrectly just to annoy you? I don't but im sure there are people who do.

Nigel You mean that your posts are that way intentionally (grammar, spelling, punctuation)? Sad. I thought once, that it was a subtle attempt at humor aimed at us in the PSM, PGM coalition, but you confessed otherwise.
