130 pound Cody Garvin from Baxter Springs - is he any relation to the Casey Garvin from Columbus (he was from Baxter Springs, I think) who won 4A state at 160 in 1997?

Yes Bobby ... he is a brother!
Are you going to coach the cadet team this year?
Are you making a POSITIVE difference in the life of kids?

Not this summer. Been busier than I ever would have imagined during my first year of teaching. I coached soccer in the fall and then we all know how long of a season wrestling is. I'm looking forward to a lazy spring and then get a little bit fatter doing nothing this summer. I'd like to get back on staff in a few years - we'll just have to see! Coaching the cadets has been a blast. The coolest part is seeing these little boogers develop into studs - like Sonderegger, Taplin (although I think he was a hoss even as a 7th grader), and Bedore. I might just wander up north toward the end of July and attend nationals as a spectator!

Why juniors and not the younger ones. I think in 3A Norton has 5 state placers back, ACCHS has 4, Hoxie, St Francis and Silver Lake have 3.

Garvin wrestled with Columbus during the season. In fact at The Basehor tournament he wrestled Columbus-Unattached and beat several of the other teams scoring lots of points. I would bet Columbus would have liked to of had him last week.

You have no control over what the other guy does. You only have control over what you do.

Hat Town has 112, 119, 135 (injured this year, placed 2003), 189. They also have Fris, who was one match away this year, Wagner (who beat Geske this year but was hurt for state), as well as Bubba Schoenfeld, who is about to blow up.
Fear The Hat.
