PLEASE READ THAT POST. THIS IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW IN KANSAS CITY, KANSAS AND IT WILL BE A TOPIC AT EVERY SCHOOL BOARD IN THE STATE NEXT WEEK. YOU BETTER EMAIL EVERY CONGRESSMAN YOU CAN!!! TELL THEM THE SCHOOLS NEED THE CURRENT LEVEL OF FUNDING AT LEAST. THEY ARE GETTING READY TO GUT SCHOOL FUNDING AND ATHLETICS WILL BE OUT THE DOOR AS WELL AS BAND, FORENSICS, AND EVERY INTERSCHOLASITC ENDEAVOR NOW BEING COACHED.

We do need action from everyone out there...all schools are talking about this and the effects it will have in numerous programs as well as jobs lost.I too urge people to e-mail and let them know we are against cutting education,if your not up to date on the effects this will cause in your own school please start asking,I think you will soon learn how much money we are talking about losing for our kids out there.And it will effect every kid,school,and parent out there.AS well as teachers who aren't paid very much anyway.They vote next week.

In the Kansas City School district alone, they are already looking at over 3 million dollars in cuts alone. If they pass the even more excessive bill they brought up last week it will be even more. Our district, which is not unlike all the big districts and proportionately the others in the state is facing massive layoffs and the TOTAL cut of ALL extra-curricular activities as well as losses that could total nearly a third of the total work force of the district. There is a lot of talk that one of the high schools, either Schlagle, Wyandotte, Harmon, or Washington would probably have to be closed and many of the grade schools and some junior highs. I don't think people realize they are doing what they are doing and it is a total dissaster. I have emailed Reardon on the state level and Moore on the national level. I urge all of you to email everyone on your email lists and tell them what is going on. Urge them to call or email their congressmen. They are afraid of being voted out of office, number one. Tell them, excersise your right to desent here or your kids will lose most of the things that make their lives unique and enjoyable as well as character building. They will do it if we do not start a massive conversation. We can do it if we try here in the next week. We have to make them pause and think who they are screwing here. I hope people are reading this!!!
