I am so NOT tired of the witty forum folk! I always enjoy Prant, et al., and the interesting and hilarious commentaries. If a thread gets way off base and I don't find it interesting, I simply scan down to see if it gets back to the original topic. Don't we all do that when we read the paper, etc. anyway? Someone's always gotta complain about something. I enjoy the forum so much more with information AND entertainment than I would without it. Long live the witty forum folk!

Witty forum talk is one thing, but idle banter between two friends is unnecessary. There are plenty of messenger services (AOL, ICQ, MSN) that provide you with the oppurtunity to talk to your friends. Use them for this and the forum for comments on wrestling related topics. Other than that, I find nothing wrong with witty comments.

maximus, you seem to have the mind set of a young private trying to advance in rank in the forum nazi army. be warned, there is a resistance forming, and as soon as you make a spelling or gramatical error, we will tear you down from your high post. it is inevitable, the proletariat posting class will rise up and crush the bourgeois moderators and all their minions. beware to all the forum nazi's!

From the first day they showed up! I agree with maximus the hijacking of every thread to call out a friend goes beyond what should be allowed. Witty banter involving the subject matter is no problem but like most kids they always push too far. Then they wonder why the coaches need a private forum.

iFeelFat: Calm down! Quit taking this forum so serious. I didn't dis on anyone. All I did was make the point that there are other ways to communicate with friends and to use the forum for what is was originally intended for-- conversing about wrestling.

Gentlemen, I wasn’t trying to start a debate here. This topic was designed to get a little humor back into the forum.

I think the forum is getting to serious.

ENJOY!!!

Witty banter is wonderful, but the incessant posting of nonsense must stop.

Frankly, who cares of Manhattan's cross country uniforms.

It is most unfortunate the moderators were inundated with trash posts disguised as youthful banter. A moderator would have a full time job attempting to keep up with the nonsense coming out of the Kansas City, Lawrence, and Manhattan areas. Many of these posts, such as "shut up cheese" have absolutely no place on this, or any, forum.

This forum was not planned as a playground for Kansas City, Manhattan, and bored college students to "chat". Nor is the high school forum designed for college club wrestling chat. I was fortunate when attending college, when boredom set in, there were always sorority houses to visit!

Even worse is the Coach who participates and promotes the youthful banter. A little fun is one thing, however provoking this nonsense is quite another.

Fortunately, I am not the moderator, as Cennings would have been immediately banned at the onset of his many ridiculous and meaningless posts. The dancing chicken, who forgot all about the beauty of this forum - out of here, I Feel Fat would feel far gone as he too would be banned.

Please, by all means be witty, and attempt to keep the talk about wrestling!

I agree. Wrestling is a serious sport. There should be no jokes. At all. And coaches aren't allowed to have fun, because they're adults. And we're just immature kids...who are old enough to fight in your wars (because you're too busy and important in the adult world) and vote for your presidents (who don't affect us because we're too young to understand politics).

Manhattan, Kansas City, and Lawrence are ruining the world. Let them secede from the state.

And it's suuuuuuuch a hassle to just skip over a post with three lines...

Thanks, KCWrestlersmom. You can be my JV mom any day.

i apologize for bringing up the college club wrestling topic, and for this i will commit ritualistic ancient Korean suicide. It consists of me shoving a bowl of rice into my ear until i die.

Prant,
If it were simply a reply which we had to skip over in a thread that would be one thing. But each off-subject retort by you or your buddies requires another off-subject response from about four other people. Pretty soon the subject matter of the original post is lost. Again, a witty reply regarding the subject is acceptable but buddy banter needs to be done privately.

You know, it's almost as if it's us kids that are wrestling, rather than all the adults in this discussion. It's a high school wrestling forum and you guys are discouraging high school wrestlers from speaking their minds. Under most of these comments and posts lies a hidden connection to wrestling, and while it may not be apparent to you, it allows us to laugh and have a little fun. And that really is the point of this sport isn't it? To have fun? All too often this sport gets way too serious with all the pressure that wrestlers put on themselves, as well as the pressure put onto them buy coaches, parents, fans, etc.

What I'm just trying to say is lighten up. Hey, you guys have your own forum now, so shouldn't that have fixed everything? Now you don't even have to read any of these topics/comments if you should so choose.

And the Manhattan Cross Country post? Obviously that has nothing to do with wrestling so just don't open it up. I mean, I skip over plently of topics that I don't want to read, and I don't even possess the wisdom that comes with your guy's age.

But hey, what would I know, I'm just a kid.

I would just like to comment on the Manhattan Cross Country Post because because I am the creator. My intention was not to hurt any ones feelings by creating that post. I had a question that I wanted a trouble-free answer to. Unfortunately I had lost the number for the 24 hour Manhattan Cross Country Hotline, so resources were hard to come by. I highly doubt that the information booth in the Olathe Public Library could help me find the answer to my question either. So I used my resource, that’s what they teach us at school at least. I asked myself, “Where can I find an answer to the question that was burning in the back of my mind.” I could hardly sleep at night. Out of last resort I went to the forum. Before hand I even looked the word “forum” up in the dictionary, just to be sure that it would be capable of answering my question. Webster said, “A public meeting place for open discussion”. I was delighted at this new find, I posted my question shortly after and by god, I got an answer within days. I didn’t mean to offend or hurt anyone on this dearly beloved KWCA High School Forum.

ENJOY!!!
