Hi,
I'am glad you asked that. We spend a little over $14 thousand dollars for the awards alone for this event. If you would like to see them close up they are on the web site. Their were several kids from Kansas last year that won at Liberty Nationals, ask them about the awards they really are incredibly cool. We also spend close to
$8 thousand dollars in national marketing, we are trying to draw the best in the nation, it seemed to work well last year. It is also a fund raiser for the William Jewell College Soccer program who gives us 85 table workers for the day and will receive around $2,500.00 for their help, it is also a fund raiser for Missouri Valley State College wrestling program who donates about 50 tables workers and recieves $1,500.00, it is also a fund raiser for the liberty wrestling program who recieves $2,000.00 for their 50 table workers. We pay are officials 175.00 for the 1 day event, with around 21 wrestling surfaces this year we will need about 25 refs, the head official is paid more, thats another $4,500.00.
When you add those numbers alone it comes to about
$32,500.00. This does not include other expenses I have not listed, just the "really big" ones. We do not recieve any concessions monies.
Last year we broke even and this year we expect to break even again, we are trying very hard to put on a qaulity event that everyone will enjoy and be finished in one day.
By the way, did I mention that we have struck a tentative deal with Metro Sports and looks like this year the Liberty Nationals will be aired on TV, probably tape delay.
Hope this answers some of your questions. We are always open to constructive criticism and we are going to be adding some special features to the event this year that we did not have last year.
