The thing is, most schools either don't know of this rule or don't understand it. A few years ago, Ulysses had a kid that was suspended for a violation and was not allowed to go to practice for an extended time by his parents. He returned on a Monday, won the Garden City tournament, and beat the eventual 4A state champion there before it was discovered that he had he come back into the practice room two days late to be eligible for the post season. No one but Coach Prieto (who is now an asst. at Garden) knew of the violation, and he had enough integrity to do the right thing. I often wonder how many times this is over looked.
