Sportsfan02 has lots to say but is unwilling to do anything but stir the pot. On behalf of District 1 I will challenge him to a cage match to see if I can take off his mask so we know his true identity. I don't think he is Clark Kent :0
By the way sportsfan02, yes, our organization should be setup like the House of Representatives, not the Senate.

If it isn't worth putting your name on I don't really think it is worth writing down. _________________________ Will Cokeley (708)267-6615 wdcokeley@cs.com Top Edit Reply Quote Quick Reply Quick Quote Unread By: none #5854 - February 01, 2007 05:34 AM Re: Lots to say sportsfan02 sportsfan02 Member

The consensus was that any post with your name attached was not credible. I guess it's six of one, half dozen of another. I prefer to judge people by the words they use not their name. Registered: September 28, 2001 Posts: 325 Loc: DeSoto, KS What have you done for wrestling? You seem to be a critic. One of those who offers criticism but no solutions are ever offered. One who doesn't do anything but ridicules those who do if it is in a different manner than you see fit. Everything I write is either my opinion or the truth so I don't think there is any credibility issue. Your words have no value if they don't have a name and your name is pretty worthless as well if you don't want to stand by what you say. I am passionate and I don't back down when I believe in something. Again, what have you done for wrestling? or anything for that matter? _________________________ Will Cokeley (708)267-6615 wdcokeley@cs.com Top Edit Reply Quote Quick Reply Quick Quote Unread By: none #5918 - February 02, 2007 10:33 PM Re: Lots to say sportsfan02 sportsfan02 Member

I don't know what I was being critical of, maybe you can point it out to me. I offered a solution and one I think is workable, that is to defund Schoolboy Duels and put more funding towards Southern Plains camp. Registered: September 28, 2001 Posts: 325 Loc: DeSoto, KS Do you have any idea how much money the Executive Board is sitting on? There is no shortage of funds. USAW-KS gave $6000 to the Schoolboy dual team. The parents of the wrestlers gave nearly an equal amount. I am sure if it came down to it the parents would fund the dual team effort without assistance. The point behind the Southern Plains debate is two things. One being that a camp should stand on its own. Participants should be able to choose whether or not they attend. Two The general populous or membership DOES NOT want the camp to be mandated so why are the elected officials voting against their constituent's position. Furthermore, Southern Plains is NOT a team event! There are NO scores kept, no trophies, no KS vs OK or whatever. KS kids will be wrestling against KS kids for INDIVIDUAL awards. The Schoolboy dual event IS a team event. KS vs other states. You offered no solution on a comment to stir up those who support schoolboy duals. Did you know that Eric Johnson and I took 44 boys to Danville,IL last year to compete in the USA Wrestling Middle School National Duals. It was a folkstyle event and we received exactly $0 from USAW-KS. By the way the answer to the earlier question is OVER $80,000. Solutions, involvement, support, opportunity for our wrestlers, etc. is what I stand for. Why you choose to judge me or criticize me is beyond my comprehension. I am quite sure I have never done anything to you personally. _________________________ Will Cokeley (708)267-6615 wdcokeley@cs.com Top Edit Reply Quote Quick Reply Quick Quote Unread By: none #5924 - February 03, 2007 03:12 AM Re: Lots to say sportsfan02 sportsfan02 Member
Registered: October 21, 2002 Posts: 881 Loc: Kansas Yes, I am well aware of all the facts and figures with regards to USAWKS and Southern Plains and Schoolboy Duels. I have never judged or criticized you but rather said others had in private messages to me. With the admission by you and Chief Renegade that money is not the issue and the Schoolboy Duel team will stand on it's own I support the idea of defunding that team and putting those funds towards Southern Plains camp even more. Registered: September 28, 2001 Posts: 325 Loc: DeSoto, KS So if you have such strong feelings and take such radical positions why is it that you choose not to reveal your name? What would more money do for the Southern Plains camp? Have you ever wrestled FS or GR? Have you ever wrestled? I think you are just one who likes to see what trouble you can stir up. _________________________ Will Cokeley (708)267-6615 wdcokeley@cs.com Top Edit Reply Quote Quick Reply Quick Quote Unread By: none #6008 - February 07, 2007 06:07 AM Re: Lots to say sportsfan02 sportsfan02 Member

Also, it keeps the knuckleheads from bothering me with emails, or at least it has up to now. Yes, I might just be one of those who likes to "stir up trouble". My question is, you are very talkative to me in private messages, why haven't you voiced anymore opinions on the board since I suggested defunding Schoolboys? Are you afraid? I am turning off my private messenger, so if you want to continue this discussion, take it public on the board. Top

Rearrange the letters in Sportsfan and you get Stan Frops. It's obvious who you are. Mr. Frops you can come out now. Admit it.

Well we know he or she was born in 1902. That would make them 104 or 105 years old. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

Could be a simple substitution cypher.
s = G p = e o = o r = r t = g s = e f = B a = u n = s 0 = h 2 = 2
Very Clever this "Sportsfan02"

I haven't read the posts closely BUT for years, I have wanted to see the talk forum do away with "false identify / names" and make them be accountable for things that they post!
I would love to see the board take action and require those who post to put their real name, location and email -
Yes, I suppose you could "lie" about it BUT it could always be traced if you do -
Maybe if I would have more support, the board would take it more "seriously". Any others out there?

I disagree with having to place your name on your posts. This is a talk forum and people should be allowed to remain anonymous if they choose. I do however believe negative comments and negative subjects, and the people who post them could be dealt with by the moderators. But I think you would lose some of the "fun" in the subjects if we had to post our names. Let's face it, this is a bulletin board and people can choose to not respond to those negative comments or posts.

I don't have an opinion but I did put this post out for fun. I have no intention of engaging in a cage match, unless there is a large sum of money involved I feel that if you want to be taken seriously you should identify yourself but I also know that there is no way you can please everyone so if you say something controversial you will alienate yourself from some portion of the wrestling community. All that being said, it is just wrestling and surely we all have things that are much more important to be focusing our serious feelings towards. Good Luck to everyone this weekend, even SPORTSFAN02 whoever he, she, or it is.

Leanna - You can add my support to the use of actual names on posts. Granted alot of them you can figure out, but it should be mandatory that if you have something to say about someone that you have the self respect and confidence in what you are saying to put your name on with it.

My 2 cents, post ip's on all posts if possible with this programming. Also, like another forum I belong to, if you say something negative, (even if true) about another forum member, or slanderous, the forum administrator reveals who you are to the person the comments were made about, then that person can do with what they will regarding that person. At that point, we can deal with the conflict on an adult level.
If possible though, I support Leanna on this one.

Leanna,
I don't know how we hold anyone accountable exactly by knowing their name. I don't have the power to punish any of these people. I think anonymity gives people the comfort to more freely speak their mind, and not worry about whether a topic is popular or politically correct. Some things need to be discussed, and not everyone is comfortable putting their name under their opinion for a variety of reasons. Unfortunately, some people will contact you outside the message board if they know who you are and disagree with your opinion. Many of the people on the board are kids, and I don't want my kid's name out there arguing or even talking with people I don't know. We don't have to agree with what everything everybody says, and I don't need to know who they are. Sometimes I learn something by listening to what they say. Moderators are there to take care of the really offensive posts, and I haven't really seen any major problems in having identities unknown. I could care less who sportsfan02 or gutwrench are.

Could he be Bobby's twin brother we didnt know about from "Waterboy"? Bobby Boucher, a socially inept 31-year-old from the swamps of Louisiana, is home schooled and sheltered by his over-protective Mama. His only contact with society is his waterboy job for a college team where the players relentlessly make fun of him, and his coach doesn't let him fight back. This all changes when Bobby gets a new coach who lets him stand up for himself. Bobby finally releases years of pent up rage and is transformed into the most devastating tackler on the team. Now Bobby has to learn how to play football and go to college, all behind his Mama's back. Let's just hope Mama doesn't find out.
