I received an email from Ted Witulski (NCEP coordinator for USA Wrestling), letting me know that ESPN declared boxing, ice hockey, football, and basketball as tougher sports as its fifth ranked sport: wrestling.

There is an ESPN follow-up poll at http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/sportSkills , if you'd like to express your opinion.

Follow this link, and in a box on the right hand side (titled "SPORTSNATION: DO YOU AGREE?") you can go to a link to vote your toughest sport. Currently, the votes put wrestling at #3.

I do not know where ESPN got there information on the toughest sport as I did not see The Dream Team win a Gold medal, but we sure did see Sanderson...

I guess this goes to show who worked the hardest to acheive ultimate success and toughness...

hey i broke my hand wrestling and i've never heard anybody ever break a nail playin basketball

We have participated in soccer, baseball, football, basketball & wrestling and we know for a fact that wrestling is the toughest sport. Here is our ranking of the above sports:
1. Wrestling
2. Football
3. Soccer
4. Baseball
5. Basketball

I see where ESPN ranked the different sports in 10 different categories. The number 5 ranking isn't bad with all that was considered.

I still think Wrestling was ranked low though!
